Who do you think will win the NSW election?

Well with just a week out from the NSW state election I thought I would start a thread/poll up to see and talk about ASF's point of view.

In my seat of Lake Macquarie I'll be voting;
1. Independent/Greens (undecided on the order)
3. Labor
4. Liberal

I think Labor will win but their margin will be greatly reduced and maybe even a minority government (with Greens and Independents holding the balance of power).
 
given the popularity of the pollies on offer, I reckon this bloke could do better
 
We should all put the sitting members last. That would get us a complete set of new pollies. New ideas may even surface and they could not do worse than the present lot.

Yes they could do worse. Alliances quite often lead to continuous compromises and some vital decisions coming up may be left on the drawing board to the detrement of NSW and all of Australia. NSW is a key State.
 
Strange how they twisted (national & state ) the Houses of Representatives from representatives of their electorate in parliament --- to representatives of their party -- and have got away with it.

Us Ozies are a bunch of dummies.
No wonder the Poms got rid of us.

Hi, In 2003 the ALP walked the election, in Lake Macquarie, with the Liberals a distant second. The Greens were nowhere. What makes you think there is going to be a change this time round.
 
Hi guys, I'll be voting liberal but i think Labour will win this one... I cant remember seeing one liberal ad on TV while im always seeing those labour "more to do" ones. That tells me there is not much corporate backing of the liberal party to win.
 
Centrebet currently has Labour at $1.05 and the Coalition at $8.00. All over bar the shouting.
 
Labor will win, but they certainly don't deserve to. I spent much of last year in NSW. The public transport situation there is totally incompetent. State services are largely run down. The govt seems very tired indeed. The problem is IMO that Mr Debnam doesn't come across as a viable alternative. He seems to lack confidence and is out of his league. The Libs should have chosen a leader from its moderate faction. Hopefully, a few more Independents will get up including Dawn Fraser, famous Aussie swimmer, who is standing as an independent for the Upper House.
 
What NSW and every other state needs is a government that gets on with the job, makes decisions and takes action. No more of all this pointless consultation on issues Joe Average knows nothing about, worthless consultants who know even less, outsourcing of anyone who actually does their job properly and generally messing things up in order to fatten the pockets of a select few.

I'm not in NSW but I do think Labor will win. The Liberals there don't seem to be any better than they are in the other states - they're still stuck in the 90's consultants, reports and contemplation era and I don't see too many falling for that one again, at least not yet.

As for the issues, I'll put it this way. All those rail stuff ups etc are giving Sydney a shocking reputation as a city to do business in or even to visit. The bad publicity alone must be costing NSW an outright fortune.

Oh well, think positive people of NSW. At least nobody's mentioning pulp mills... :
 
Once Labor are back in action you can expect to see a great deal done on the energy based expansion front.

How long before anything happens 1,2,3 or 5 years - ok lets grease the palm.
The people of NSW, well a certain percentage or so dumb. I can't believe they vote for these dicks.
The thought of having to deal with a labour government almost makes me physically sick, honesty,integrity, conviction does not exist.

What are you talking about? WA Labor has plenty of conviction. Brian Burke, Laurie Connell, David Parker, Shelley Archer...

m8 - the usual practice is that ASIO turn up about 2.00am tonight - but that might be 3.00am - depends on how they work the daylight saving trick

lesson for me this election .... next time I'm gonna ring the major parties and ask " suppose I don't vote for you, then who would you have me vote for" - what they say will affect my decision ( either for or against) . (possiby not the same answer as distribution preference) -again in hindsight there are some interesting battles / redistributions going on

I like lookin at the barcharts, and saying "that party with 1 vote - thats MY VOTE !!!"

As I posted elsewhere, I thought that the fishin party was an alternative nuclear power party. wish they had spell check in the voting booths.

PS Barry O'Farrell has to take over from Debnam surely

PPS to give you an idea on how tricky these preference situations get - Labour chose to let the Independent announce a water initiative in Goulburn , RATHER THAN the Labour candidate - because it meant a better chance of unseating Prue Goward (Lib).
 
The mafia would be a preferred option to the Labour party they have managed drug-dealing,gambling and prostitution very well over the years so are amply qualified.
I am sure trains, roads, schools and health could be turned around by this new family.
Disposing of the current family of Iemma, Sartor, Costa et al could be arranged.

I just don't believe the people of NSW have been so stupid again.
