You are definitely missing the major point, currently connectivity issues cause stability issues with his trading platform.

Going via a VM that has a stable connection to the broker and data feeds will mean that connectivity issues only cause temporary loss to remote display which can be recovered easily and with no impact to the trading platform (and I bet if you used a Chinese cloud provider there'd be no loss of connectivity to the VM).
