The highest volume I can see is last July with 1 million or $60,000
Today its 120K and $7200.

Hardly epic.

I agree! The volumes are relatively small. So it shouldn't be a cause for alarm when a pullback occurs. Stocks never go up in a straight line (most of the time anyway).
 
February 29 notes from (ISC)² (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISC2) meeting I attended (remotely) in Long Island, New York (joint meeting with New York City chapter).

No new information - just additional context and a live demonstration.

♦ Defence/Large Commercial/Critical Infrastructure/Law Enforcement are the key markets.

♦ It is a proprietary drone made here in the US, with a proprietary base-station also made here in the US, and the C4-AI proprietary software coded in Silicon Valley. The entire technology stack is proprietary.

♦ Computing is done both on the drone and in the base-station. There is a server inside the base-station. It's all edge-based computing - all data is stored on the base station for cyber security reasons - it never communicates with the cloud (unless the customer wants an exception).

♦ The drones would ideally work in a lot of 100 to 1000 (a swarm) controlled by an individual pilot (e.g. southern border perimeter given as an example). They need to be smart enough to coordinate between themselves and minimise human intervention. As an example of multi-drone operations, if one drone is low on battery, another one can take over mid-flight and send the first one back to base to recharge. The system is able to automatically select the most qualified drone for each specific mission based on parameters (like battery life, proximity to the target/incident, weather conditions). There is also single beam LiDAR and an altimeter to prevent crashing and avoid obstacles.

♦ Flew a live drone mission using their software from a hotel room in Albuquerque, New Mexico controlling a drone located in Silicon Valley, California. This is where I forgot to take notes because it was incredibly impressive and I was kind of blown away.

♦ Integration with 911 dispatch calls plus gunshot sensors to automatically send drones to any triggered events as first responder.

♦ When they were going for the NYPD contract, some of the other prospective vendors had to pull out due to inability to deal with the wind speed. NGL were able to go ahead and succeed despite these adverse conditions.

Likewise, Novva is one of the first data center firms to use drones for security purposes. The company has partnered with Nightingale Security to deploy the latter’s Blackbird Unmanned Ariel Vehicles (UAVs) at Novva’s flagship in West Jordan, Utah.

While the drones offer 4K cameras, LiDAR, and infrared during their preprogrammed missions, operators will have to be careful about their use.

“I think robotics is something that you might see more of. Part of our [human] security guards’ daily duties is to do external perimeter walks,” he says. “I see no reason why that might become the remit of some sort of a robot.”

San Pablo Police were assisted by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office and the Richmond Police Department who attempted to search for the suspects running through backyards. With the help of a drone equipped with a FLIR detection (heat source), a suspect was located. Soon, in a nearby area, the other suspect was arrested.
 
The drone works in high-speed wind, rain, hail and extreme heat with a level of stability and performance that is very difficult to emulate (a competitive moat).

There is much more to building a drone than meets the eye. They are constantly iterating on battery life, autonomous precision landing algorithms, weight ratio, agility and ease of use - all of these factors are often at odds with each other in terms of their design requirements.

So it's quite a technical feat to implement and integrate a variety of innovations and capabilities without compromising the primary ability to fly.

Looks like they also raised 250,000 USD today via convertible notes. Which should hopefully help with cashflow.

Ha ha, yes if only. The clue may be the code - NGR which is a Canadian company, Nova Gold Resources currently trading around that price target.

Hi @Country Lad

I'm inclined to agree and your sleuthing makes a lot of sense.

However, that page is purely a list of ASX companies, which is why I was so perplexed. No other Canadian-listed companies are on there.

Anyway, the Market Index website content writer & strategist got back to me and amended the ticker to NGL. However, I am still waiting on clear and final confirmation from them re: Macquarie's alleged price target which still seems out of this world.

The plot thickens! I will report any findings back here when I learn more. This could just be a cascade of mistakes on their end.
 
I think it's meant to be Mirvac Group (not Nova Gold Resources) after reflecting on it for a while.

3 main reasons:

1. M and N are very close on the keyboard - somebody could have tried to type in MGR (Mirvac) and accidentally pressed NGR which auto-populated the wrong company name.

2. MGR's current price is about $2.15 - meaning Macquarie's price target of $2.38 is much closer to reality.

3. To the best of my knowledge, no institution or banks realistically have the time or inclination to provide analyst coverage on a company that is below a 10 million market cap. (please correct me if I'm wrong here on microcap coverage)

Approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration for drones to operate beyond the visual line of sight of the pilot is probably the most advanced regulatory clearance that can be attained in the world.

NGL have just achieved the unmanned drone equivalent of US FDA approval, and must have demonstrated incredibly advanced risk mitigation to address safety of other aircraft, people and property.

This means their AI drones can truly operate autonomously without needing a human operator to maintain constant eye contact.
