News software?

Hi all..

This may have been covered many times before, but a search retuned nothing.

I'd quite like to keep "up to the minute" tabs on companies of interest on the ASX. As soon as something happens i'd like to know about it. Is there any news ticker software or anything available. Sifting through the junk on the ASX website is often fruitless..

You need some sort of dynamic news service which will alert you when specific company news announcements are made. Most of the large stockbrokers have this service but it will probably cost you extra, eg WebIress (Power Etrade) through Etrade or Comsec for about $80 per month, which reduces depending on your trading activity.

what about setting up RSS to get feeds from yahoo or other finance sites.

On Google there is a facility if you feed it "zinifex" it will send you an email of every news item that comes up There are alos a vcouple of free services.
