NEM has halved in the last year or so while gold is about the same and we're at war all over the shop. I'm really not sure if I want to own this woofer. Some significant resistance on the way back up.

Hi Sean....
I'm looking to sell NCM on 20/10/23, 23/10, 24/10, 25/10 or 26/10 for the best I can get....
Reason being that I just do not want to get involved, ever again, in American Stocks, too many dramas, & too much paperwork....
 

I assume it loses a dollar ex-dividend. I'm going to come out not much better than even on this, even though I doubled down under 20 bucks.

I'm still tossing up what to do. I'm a bit of a contrarian at heart and see gold going much higher. Best I understand the implication of the Australian listing and NEM's other projects a bit better.

Flying into a sand storm with this.

Do you have any idea when NEM on the ASX opens - thought it was to be on the regular open time - but the freakin thing is just sitting there stuck in Pre-Open...

Sorry, missed your earlier post. You forgot the @ thing before my name.

I've still got no idea whether I want this thing.

I haven't seen any plans for what they're going to do with the peripheral or marginal projects, including exploration plays.

Maybe they spin off PNG into a new company. Might consider buying out Havieron/Greatland and use Telfer as the plant. The Canadian things look high quality. Exploration and investments in the Andes - no idea.

Might just transfer the funds into the GDX...

i was going to Bail on NCM, but then I sent some time researching NEM - looks pretty good to me....
I could have bailed at a small loss, decided against that - NEM is now in the Bottom Drawer Holding Pen atm....
See how it travels over the next 12 mths..

On November 8th, 2023, Newcrest Mining Limited (NCM) was removed from the ASX's Official List in accordance with Listing Rule 17.11, following implementation of the scheme of arrangement under which NCM will be acquired Newmont Corporation (via its subsidiary, Newmont Overseas Holdings Pty Ltd).
