hello everybody, (Joe).
I'd recently been doing my own little review on the Smiley's, and I quess like evrybody else I think there great with a top range. Although I find Mr Winker as I call him, a little out of place and in the volosity of the moment can seem to give people like myself the wrong impreession, aspiecally if used in the wrong text. Don't get me wrong, because there is nothing wrong with Mr Winkers charactor and I guess it deserves to be here.

The reason Im telling you this is because I recently recieved a message from a unknown source involved with the ASF whom I have regards for, and this person had put Wink all over it five times or more. Because of that I sincerly, reconized the person to be having a lend of me about a subject of high regards. So I responded accordently, a little furiated because I had trouble gaining a proper or true understanding of his message and totaly BAGED* the person in a responable manner. Only to learn later without taking notice of MR Winker, that this message was really the full quid dispite Mr Winker. (I quess we can all get carried away with the moment) After taking all this in I find it a little dawnting and really something I don't need and wish that person all the very best.

That is why I would like to put a proposal to you all (joe).
I propose we remove Mr Winker from the instant list, pull it back into line to be replaced with either NUTS, XYXTHUMBS, OR STAR. E.G.

I ask administration to read into this one. And I really think you people should have your say about my proposal. Giving your impression and Ideas. I would really like for this to happen?

Yep it can be misunderstood. I play a bit of Backgammon on the net. When you say to the opp "nice roll" some take offence - because they reckon you're claiming that they are winning by luck. So instead you say "lousy roll " and they get a bit of a larf. I think its called larrikin diplomacy.

I agree entirely that these symbols can completely reverse the meaning of the words they follow (or precede).

As for your proposal to remove it , mate - its just a bludy colon followed by a close brackets after all. Bit like \ , it's been around ever since web chatrooms were invented, since Bill Gaites was a boy. As if NUTS wont be misinterpreted lol - then again - seems pretty unambiguous to me. (I wont use it here - it would imply a judgement on your post , and that's not what I want to do lol - it would be too severe , i mean :nuts: is far worse than a wink lol)

I notice you yourself like to use wink 2020, that fair enough and I guess it is a friendly gesture nothin wrong with it.

I Might well be Cursing (badnews) I'm really not sure whats wrong with me, but I still think that the Instant Smilies could be up dated.

If I see to much of wink in one thread, I swear I get all junked up inside and I don't know what to do with my self after that.

And of course don't get rid of one smilie on account of me, it is a good one if used properly. I quess you do it well.

I think I work to hard and don't get enough play, time for me to relax and put a smile on me dial, not a wink in me fink.

You have to work out for youself where Im being serious and where I'm takin the p***. In the case of the poem, its about this old bloke down the road who I call "the reluctant optimist" lol. Not you mate - hum! lol (woops now Im taking the p*** out of Kiwi accents) Im outta here before they invent a new "STIRRER" icon

What gets up my goat, is that the little blue marshmelow, has a mine of its on and can really get into someone face. Also it is not only dainty but dandy and I think that bites.

After sitting back and solving 2020's criptic puzzles, I can understand that wink is not a harmful crider, but the complete opersite. As 2020's criptic puzzles sugests, it is mearly a sign of respect.

But this is a professional forum I assume. With that in mind, and in hind sight wink is a gesture that is better asigned for comedy or the affection for someone or something. Not nessacerly a recommended quote for the share market. (its a con). With all due respect to those who differ.

If you look at the Post Icons below. you may see one missing and that being wink because it should be replaced, as a sharemarket header or side line smillie (commodity): Instead.

Far be it from me to bitch and argue. That is why I also say, if you are one to differ, please feel free to use wink in any manner you deem nessacary. It certianly wan't hurt anybody or insult them. Be happy in everyday and in everyway. have sum fun!
