Missing Minister

and that is probably exactly what happened......but i like to offer another view.;)
.

my view is that any clown trying to take on the onslaught of weather that this alpine region has to offer is purely stupid and reckless.

in no way was the weather a random singular unprecedented event, it was entirely expected and forcast..

imho he should apologise for his absolute stupidity and imho pay for the entire rescue.

what a bafoon

the media are playing a game of rescue 911 with this one, but i am 100% they should be damning him like they did ballimore for his stupidity on that yacht..

the whole exercise of going into weather like that is absolutely the most crazy thing one would contemplate.. i bet he was the only d**khead on the top of that hill all weekend..

RUBBISH, I've been up there in far worst than that. In far more isolated areas. As always its not the activity its the people doing it.

What did metric do wrong? Sorry, too technical for me. I thought bafoon was a monkey and buffoon was a fool! :p:

Sorry; :topic

point taken...but two warnings from 2 mods on the same day i start regular posting, after i get back from a 3 months suspension.....mmmmmm.

hell, if you dont want me here you should have just banned me permanently...

Hang in there ole pal, used to be close to the line myself. Rather than get up shirts now when I go to post I think about it, walk away for ten minutes then post up.

Maybe Minister Tim could pick up a bit from us.

he he:);)

I was watching him return to his loved ones. His partner wanted to give him a kiss and a hug and he just shrugged her off with a peck of the cheek. Heartless man. Maybe he saw the media waiting.

lol

rubbish

the weather was -7 and no one was on the hill..

Agentm you are clearly uniformed. That walk razorback up from the bungalow spur, and the federation hut is the second most popular snow trek for walkers. On the weekends its not unusual to have 20 walkers to stay at that hut. Last weekend was no different. From yesterdays report 4 walkers had reported seeing his tracks veering off the normal walking line on the ridge from the hut to the peak or off the peak, I cannot remember which one now.

That is at 1700 m about 200m above the snow line.

LOL -7 thast not extreme, not by about another -10.

As I said clearly uniformed.

Maybe the dude needed to get away from humanity for a while and contemplate the nature of the universe, in solitary retreat:eek:utthedoor:

i cant believe your answering my posts in any case:D

i love the drama, my picture of an empty hill and he being the only clown on it was so much better than your super freeway version of nutters in the bush..

love how he fell off a cliff and people offered to help and he wouldnt take it!!

At 1922 metres above sea level, Mount Feathertop is Victoria's second highest peak - and one of the most alluring and dangerous for adventurers, particularly in winter.

Mr Holding was last seen hiking alone about 8.30am on Sunday by a group who saw him slipping on the icy terrain.

They offered him help but he declined, saying he would go back along the Bungalow Spur track towards Harrietville, a small town at the foot of Mount Feathertop.

Earlier that morning, he had set out from Federation Hut, several hundred metres below the summit, and told other walkers he would return if the conditions were bad.

"He said, 'I'm just going to see what the snow's like. If it's too bad I'll come straight back'," bushwalker Ray Kennedy told The Age.

I have to agree. Anyone see him sitting in the bush like a shag on a rock. He slipped 100m. So what, get up and climb back you weak as p!ss pretender. It wasn't even above the snow line. That's Just embarrassing!!

They could of called it something a bit harder like mount deathtop. But then again I suppose it was well named, if guys like this are climbing round it.
