Missing Cat

Julia,
Carla is a beauty! Nice shot too, animals really seem to have 'character', or do we humans try to ascribe our characeristics to everything?!! 'Anthropomorphism'???

Hi Rich,

Thank you - I think so too of course. Sadly she died aged only 6 very unexpectedly. Broke my heart. I posted the photograph as a sort of tribute to her.

Indeed animals do have really individual personalities - I don't think that's being anthropomorphic at all. My present girl, Libby, is very similar to Carla to look at, but all similarity ends there! Libby is fiercely territorial, very protective and wary round people she doesn't know. Doesn't much like other dogs and sticks to me like glue. Carla was soft natured, loved everyone and everything and would happily be left with friends. And the two dogs before that were entirely different again!

I just can't envisage the day when I don't have a German Shepherd in my life.
As Scott has obviously found, once you've had one you just wouldn't have any other breed.

Any more doggie photos, anyone - I love seeing other people's dogs.

Well guys the saga continues. This time batbrain left for good, or so I thought. Stuff the bloody fussy thing. Enter Rhodesian Ridgeback. Both short haired low maintenance animals. Cat returns and now the cat is attacking the bloody dog!!! Go figure. Another expensive trip to the vet to stitch said dogs nose. Stupid pets, just hope they don't have a go at the macau.

I reckon the cat loves the dog!! I have to say siameses cats and ridgebacks are the best of both. You can put them both on a leash and takem for a walk. And every now and again the parrot tells em where to go ROFLMAO.

dHi Crackaton,

I think "good luck" is the best thing I can say! I wouldn't dare get a cat given my Shepherd's instinctive response to felines. She can be walking sedately at heel, no need for lead, and then, zap, she's off. The cat can be half a km away - she can sense the damn thing. Yet you see the most gorgeous pictures of dogs and cats nestled up asleep together. Wouldn't happen in my house.

Keep us posted on their relationship. How old is the dog?

Julia

just reading through this old thread.

had a few chuckles, but I could have sworn there were a couple of squased cat photos at some racetrack on here, which added to the humour (albeit in bad taste).

was it this thread?

LOL this was it, still not sure if it's in the right thread, but after the dead 'coon I guess it'll be ok. :D

I can tell that some of the posters on this thread have never gone through the anguish of having a pet missing or killed on the road. I can assure you it is no laughing matter. Pets rank equal to children for many people. You may not agree with that, but please respect other peoples' feelings. I really don't think it is necessary to post photos of animals killed on the road on a forum like this.
