Media Stocks - Category?

Would anyone know what category Media Stocks fall under. Are they considered defensive / Cyclical or other? If a market was in the stages of early recovery would we expect to see media stocks perform early or later as the economy improves.

Media makes money from advertisement. Advertisements and marketing spend are the first to be cut in any downturn. So I'd say media is cyclical.

They will probably fall first in any downturn, and in a recovery, I'd say middle of cycle...but not 100% sure on that.
