Looking for new people to converse with about the financial markets

Hi Everyone,

I've been involved in the financial markets, (intra-day trading) for about 1 year. The majority of that year I was doing everything completely wrong, and finding myself learning from the wrong 'mentors'.

I'm looking for people in Australia/Adelaide who I can talk to and learn from. My friends and family don't understand. lol. I'm open to different time frames and strategies. I would also greatly appreciate you sharing what has help you during your journey, and what resources proved critical.

I wasted a lot of time and money, an incredible amount considering the missed opportunity trying to do options, short term day to week trades
Ultimately, and for my own temperament and pessimistic view, i i think I found a solution with system trading,trend following to balance the rest of my conservative investments.

Thank you for your response! I'm in quite the same situation. I'm trying to find what works best for my personality, and makes the most sense to me. It can appear to be a long process but I'm trying not to focus on the results ($) and more so on the process.

Hi Gaia, for someone starting off this is a wonderful place. Wish I'd had the guidance here when I began instead of investment advisers. So much to check. First I'd look at the ideas on charting here by tech/A.

For myself I now use a mix of technical analysis and fundamentals. In the latter the current world economic situation plays a big part as well as the product or industry the company is in. Many are today following lithium for its use in batteries for power storage, I follow gold and silver due to my concern at financial fundamentals weakening in my view.

Have a good look over the site, it will take a week or two to read over and obtain a solid gist of tech 'a's stuff alone .
