Linux

How do people find using word processors running on a Linux OS?

You can use Crossover to install MS Office, but anything with advanced macros/VBA is going to experience compatibility issues. OOO is good, but not all files will work.

Does that apply to Wine? as well? I didnt realise it's a variant of wine.

Crossover is a commercial version of Wine which you pay for. You pay for a reason, it is enhanced to work with several major programs and games e.g. Office.

If it doesn't work in Crossover well chances are very slim for it to work in Wine any better (e.g. perhaps you are using a bleeding edge CVS version of Wine which has new advances, although even the Crossover developers are contributing to this source code).
