Islamo-Fascists Barbarians!

Well well, there is a lot of heated air on this post.

For those of us who have actually spent considerable time researching this topic, don't like what we see. We are deeply concerned. I think it's time we all did some research and then gave some educated reasoning on the subject.

With regard to Bali, who knows who did that. Maybe it has nothing to do with religion - a bit premature to start accusing, don't you think?

No connection to Bali or terrorism, but it was a response to the comment about the supposed civilised and humane values of Australians in general.

The point is, not everyone would necessarily agree with that view - even now.

I don't know who was responsible. It would seem at first take to be Islamist extremists. But we just do not know at present.

Somehow to me it seems to heap obscenity on obscenity when I read this thread so full of hatred and intolerance. Personally I have little time for any religion. Apart from perhaps Buddhism and Hinduism, all the religions of the world over eons have contributed terribly to human suffering. To what end? Does anyone become more convinced of the existence of their God (Gods)?
I doubt it.

I just feel sad.

Sounds like I was talking about muslims in general. I meant these islamo-fascist types; no I don't think they're one and the same.

Yes GP I am culturally uneducated in general. I'm quite happy being ignorant for the most part (its far less stressful ), but thats why I have to hypothesise and ask all you city folk for guidance. Of course i'll have to do some homework to form a more solid opinion.

Is this true? (no-one bite my head of i'm just a poor ol' country bumkin ):
The extremist factions are using actual script from the Koran to back up their hate campaign i.e.- They have declared Jihad (holy war) on the west and feel that it is justified because the west are 'infidels'.

If this is true then the problem may lie with the Koran. If theyre just pulling out section 87-q) out of their rule book to exploit for their hate campaign why not just get rid of it? From what has been said here; the baddies have no problem changing stuff (you get more virgins because of inflation- ROTFL). Put extremely simply the good muslim leaders could say: "Yeah, we talked to allah and he reckons we shouldn't kill someone because they have different ideas; he reckons it might be fascism". Muslims aren't stupid; the great majority wouldn't look right in the back of the Koran for some archaic rule to exploit. With such high stakes, is it so much to ask to get rid of it?

Epsilon- from my experience as a farmer, if you fight fire with fire then most times it gets away. Best way is to plough a dirty great barrier around it and put spot fires out with water. In other words; isolate the extremist factions and get our good friends, the peaceful muslims, to do their utmost to extinguish any more hate left over. If we alienate the lot it'll end up a backburning operation gone wrong. Heard on UHF couple of years ago: "Geez that fire must be big George; theres two tree lines between me and it!" Reply:"Only one now!"

To illustrate my point of view; heres an analogy? simple folk (like me ) can understand:

There were two motor-racing clubs: The Ford Racers and The Hemi Racers. Now the Ford Racers (third world) racers went out every weekend and were demoralsied by constantly being pulverised by the technically superior Hemi engines (first world). One of the Ford Racers was sick of it so he decided to sabotage some of the Hemi's by replacing their cooling system components with in-efficient ones (bombs).

This was found out and he was subsequently kicked out of the Ford Racers club. Some of the members though, liking the taste of victory, decided to branch out with him and form their own radical club: Jihad. Citing rules (in the back somewhere) of the old Ford Racers rule book they proclaimed that "Ford must win at all costs!"

Dis-heartened, the Ford Racers club met and decided that it would be best if they change their old rule book a bit. The club president proclaimed that even though their hardware is poor by design (poor resources and/or infrastructure), they will persevere in a fair and just manner. Subsequently Ford recruited such talent as Trick & Mansweto racing and Herrod Performance (Red Cross) to make the best of a less than ideal situation.

In the end CAMS (UN or something) banned the radical offshoot of Ford Racers and were applauded by Ford and Hemi racers alike. Ford still didn't win as often as Hemi but were glad that everyone had fun and no-ones car was un-neccesarily damaged. Occasionally and old Jihad member would tamper with a Hemi but they were quickly beaten to death with Ford racers own torque wrenches.

And everyone lived happily ever after.

The moral of the story is that even if you're behind the eight ball, whether it be because of a poor engine design or a lack-lustre economy there is no need to despair. Playing dirty helps no-one; especially justifying it with obscure rules. That just angers everyone, especially your own club/religion/country. Just ask the average Iraqi about the terrorists! There's always help out there; be it Trick and Mansweto or foreign aid. But Theyre not going to feel like helping much if youre going to be a mungrel and stuff everything up for everyone else. You could always switch to a Hemi (move to Australia) but please check the Jihad at the door.

Humble apologies for any offence caused to anyone (except Ford fans ). Its just my attempt at helping. Just laugh at my pathetic bogan ways.

Sure, we could probably try rounding up everyone on the planet that doesn't have white skin and blow them up or something - but then who would the Hitler references be in reference to?

Work needs to be done to identify and stop these terrorist cells. No one will disagree with you there, but this is not the 21st century crusades. It's not a battle against Islam, its a battle against a minority of extremist murderers.

I didn't mention skin colour nor race. Ideology is the problem; what a man is thinking or believes is the problem. Don't you think you are being racist - as people like to tag other people - when you mention white people?. Ah, but it is ok to villify anyone that represents a link to Britain. As I said it's ideology not; a totally different thing to race and colour, which is used to bully people when they speak out.

Yes there might be a monority of extremists, but have a look at the young and naieve recruits they are easily getting access to. That's the big concern. The availability of fresh recruits who have been brainwashed by the minority. All of a sudden it becomes a majority, and there is nothing those peaceful and loving moderate muslims can do about it. As I said be concerned.

Govt must act to silence Bashir, ALP urges
The Federal Opposition says the Government must lobby Indonesia to stop Jemaah Islamiah's (JI) jailed spiritual leader, Abu Bakar Bashir, from spreading his message of hate.
There are reports Bashir, who was sentenced to 30 months jail over the 2002 Bali bombings, could have his term reduced by a further month.
It is also reported that Bashir used the telephone in his cell to call on terrorists to use nuclear weapons in their fight.
Opposition foreign affairs spokesman Kevin Rudd says the Australian Government must intervene.
"If that's not an incitement to terrorism and mass murder, I don't know what is," he said.
"I'd therefore call upon the Government to raise this also with the Indonesian Government that Abu Bakar Bashir be denied access to the media and be denied access to telephone communications to spread his message of hate."
Federal Justice Minister Chris Ellison says Australia has registered a strong protest against any reduction in Bashir's sentence.
"In the Indonesian prison system and the sentencing system, there are automatic remissions which apply to prisons to mark Indonesian independence day and others," he said.
"But we certainly have said that this should not apply to Abu Bakar Bashir who after all has been imprisoned for terrorist-related offences."

'Spiritual leader'
Bashir is alleged to be the spiritual leader of the militant group Jemaah Islamiah (JI).
JI is blamed for both the 2002 attack and last Saturday's suicide bombings in Bali which killed 19 people, including up to four Australians.
Bashir had his sentence cut by more than four months to commemorate Indonesia's independence day in August.
Prison officials say he could now have another month taken off to mark the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan in early November.
The head of the Indonesian jail where Bashir is being held, Dedi Sutardi, says the Government accords two annual sentence reductions to prisoners for good conduct if they have already served at least six months.
"The reductions are governed by a presidential decree," Mr Sutardi said.

I am not sure if it is such a difference 30 months or 29 months or 28, numbers look small, it is more of the symbolic value.
