Is this fair?

I have been watching a few threads being closed by the moderators lately. There have been good reasons for some of the closures, but I feel there are too many.

One disturbing fact is a moderator will humiliate a forum member just to prove a point or something of that nature. That`s the way it appears to me - perception. See below for an example:
This was taken off the closed fundamental positions thread, the last post.


It should be pointed out, that as recently as January 2004 (and probably even more recently) our Duc was a technical daytrader, posted trades publically and did rather well.

The implications of this, apart from the glaringly obvious, is that here we have a person with less than 2 years experience in fundamental analysis, speaking with all the authority of Peter Lynch or Warren Buffet.

I leave you all to draw your own conclusions.

I think this topic, now well off course should be closed.

If you still feel like disclosing your positions, please start another thread, and lets all endeavour to keep that one on track.

I think this is wrong! Regardless of what people believe they have the opportunity to convey that on this forum. If people choose to ignore them that is fine.

Wayne closed the thread because it had gotten off track and duc then started another one that hopefully will fulfill his original purpose.

I do not believe that Wayne's purpose was to try and humiliate anyone and duc has not contacted me to complain. As you said, I think this may be an issue of 'perception'.

I think we should let duc get on with his new thread and let the past be the past.

I would like to add that Wayne gives up a lot of his time to help moderate ASF and I think he does a great job. So does RichKid. I appreciate both their efforts. I understand that not everyone will agree with every decision they make but with so many members you are never going to be able to please everyone. I know I don't. But we all do our best regardless.

Yeah it could have been unfair Snake, but it's over now, let's move forward. Let's move past this FA vs TA bickering.

I respect the time and effort you put into this forum, Joe as well.

My point was the way the thread was closed, not the closure itself. Regardless of the TA /FA argument Duc has brought some needed life to the forum. There are that many ghosts prowling but not posting and a few regulars providing them with entertainment.

Any way it is forgotten but not forgotten so to speak. Code of conduct 1 and 2.

That was me crackaton. It needed to happen.

Frankly, after baglimits last remark I could only see it going downhill and I like to think we are family friendly here at ASF.
