Pardon my ignorance as this is my first year ... since Monday is NOT a public holiday in WA will there be trading on the ASX ??

Its a PH in all of Australia as its the Queen's birthday.

As a Brit, I never really understood why Australia gets a PH on this day, and Britain doesn't :confused:.

Perhaps it has something to with trying to keep sovereignty over Oz?

Anyways..back to your point...NO TRADING ON MONDAY:D

WA does not have a holiday on monday, its a normal weekday for them.

Cause its not even the Queen's real birthdate anyway, similar to celebrating Christmas day on the 25th of Dec, it wasn't even Jesus' Birthday either.

Dopey Australian's, but I will take the public holiday, thankyou very much;)

It's like English Bank Holidays differing to Scottish Bank Holidays (historically anyhow) - Public Holidays can be either National or State Level - State level are bound to differ, classic example: Metropolitan Melbourne gets the first tuesday in November off every year when everyone else who doesn't work in Metro Melb has to work.

Public Holiday for a horse race, I love this city.
