On the market depth I am only getting 5 price levels and I don't see total buy/sell volume levels. Is it possible to see all the orders and total order volume?

Where in TWS do I see if ASX stocks have announcements?

I am losing Comsec Protrader 1 at the end of Jan and I need a platform that provides the same functionality. They have implemented an Iress version but I don't like it plus IB have cheaper comms.

Whilst were on the subject of IB, does anyone know if you can run IB's real time data through metastock. I have emailed them with this particular but am yet to get a response. If i choose to steer away from etrade i might try and run IB and metastock together off IB's data.

Yes, you can but you will need a 3rd party plug-in. I use Metaserver RT.

IB doesn't provide news for ASX stocks; I just use ASX for that if I want to know.

Is IB's real time data usuable as EOD data with Metastock as well?? I was looking at using Metastock (not pro) for EOD trading and hopefully matching it up with IB's data.

If this doesn't work, will the data that Paritech supply, DD3 or whatever it's called, work with IB as an EOD trading platform?

I dunno about IB's EOD data. I use Paritech for ASX EOD. And you could certainly just execute your trades on IB.

Only because I’m active in the options game, bit uncomfortable at first, (i.e. no bank account / no chess) but you quickly get used to it....

Apologies for the ignorance, but how do Aust. share transactions and cash managment work without Chess and bank accounts?

Converting funds back to AUD

I have a question about Interactive Brokers (IB) and withdrawing funds.

If I am trading with IB, obviously at some stage (fingers crossed), i am going to have to withdraw funds and transfer them back to my Aussie B/Account.

I am guessing my funds will be affected by the exchange rate (value of the AUD against the USD) when i transfer back?

When you set up your account you nominate a base currency which i assume in your case it will be $AUD, so when you transfer cash it shows up in $AUD, when you buy aussie stocks you're using $AUD when you sell you receive $AUD, therefore you are not exposed to currency risk.

Would i be able to trade US stocks and still operate in AUD?

If your account is set to $AUD, you can borrow $US dollars to finance US stock purchases.
