Konbby. He was hated, loathed and loved by different levels of society.Yea, and the bunga parties etc. But if you look at his zest for life and what he achieved he was incredible. Some things he changed needed to happen. Plenty of bad stuff too, obviously.
He was a Trumpian figure. Went into politics to protect himself from prosecution.Konbby. He was hated, loathed and loved by different levels of society.
Three modern day duds, the Trumpet, Putrid and BellasconiaHe was a Trumpian figure. Went into politics to protect himself from prosecution.
Promised an Italian revitalisation but actually hugely increased the debt and it became the second poorest performing country in the EU.
He was the longest serving PM they ever had and it is generally agreed he didn't do much of note with running the country. I am sure he is loathed by some but he controlled the media and is loved by the far right hence he got on well with Putin.
One funny Trumpian thing he did was deliver a biography of his life to every household in Italy. He just loved attention.
His personal life story is amazing. His effect on Italy not so good.
Sir R I guess there are plenty of others but these 3 come to mind pretty quickly.Three modern day duds, the Trumpet, Putrid and Bellasconia

I've drawn a blank, but as you know, I have no love for the current iteration of the ilLiberal Party.Hey Wayne you left out The Hyphen scum bag Lib power broker of yesteryear.
One Noel Crieghton-Browne of yesteryear. Relegated to beyond the Black Stump some time ago.I've drawn a blank, but as you know, I have no love for the current iteration of the ilLiberal Party.
Thats a bit of a shock. I thought he was a decent chap too.Simon Crean passed away aged 74, always seemed a genuine guy from a workers point of view and came across as the fall guy for Labor IMO. RIP
Former federal Labor leader Simon Crean dies, aged 74
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has confirmed Crean will be given a state funeral, saying his passing was a “great loss for the labour movement, but a great loss for our nation as well”.www.smh.com.au
Yes always came across as having the heart in the right spot, but lacked charisma and polish that's needed in the big chair.Thats a bit of a shock. I thought he was a decent chap too.
Now steady on Wayne. I think he was possibly one of the best either side of politics. Came across as fair and understanding and showed no bs.I liked him tbh. Seemed fair dinkum to me. Perhaps the last genuine Labo(u)r leader.
Maybe the only one I could have possibly voted for.
Unfortunately, as @sptrawler intimated, the plebeians want flashy and BS, rather than steady and fair. Now steady on Wayne. I think he was possibly one of the best either side of politics. Came across as fair and understanding and showed no bs.
Absolutely and to highlight that, how long did it take for Albo to get a go at the top job in the Labor party? Not until Billy completely imploded and they needed someone who seemed like a working class grass roots person.Ye

He needed that Curtinesque makeover though.Absolutely and to highlight that, how long did it take for Albo to get a go at the top job in the Labor party? Not until Billy completely imploded and they needed someone who seemed like a working class grass roots person.
How long will that trait can carry Albo, is the next question, but probably for another thread.
Don't you guys remember the ABC back in 2002?He needed that Curtinesque makeover though.
