I am a new poster but have been lurking for some months.

Obviously I wont be voting either, but I learn something from everyone, and probably most from those posts where there is a contradiction of opinion as this contributes to one's understanding of what exactly, is 'knowledge' or truth or fact!

So unless posts start to become threatening, slanderous or abusive in any way (or infringe on the provisions of providing financial advice) then as far as I can see there is room for all. No egos involved!

i can't believe there is so much fence sitting here...

i am willing to publicly state that i have learnt an absolute bucket load from tech/a in the last year or so... and it would be a huge loss to the forum if he leaves... lately, tech, you've been getting a bit fired up, especially with the bears (wayneL and co)... but thats probably cause you be being stirred up by others... i would suggest taking a few deep breaths...

money tree... and the rest of you financial planners and analysts... speaking from experience, i can say... what you say is just common sense really, the type of crap we saw with paul clithero and that show MONEY, but its nothing new... its the same old crap over and over again...

i vote for Tech.

Hi Rafa

:iagree: 100% with porper's post earlier

Nothing to do with fence sitters Bobby, more to do with not lowering ASF standards as low as another forum I could mention.

It is a positive that the vast majority of people here haven't voted.

What Tech and Money Tree do is entirely up to them, nobody else.

I think the fact that the overwhelming majority have not bothered to vote shows how childish and immature the original intention of this thread is.

I posted earlier that I won't be wasting time voting or taking sides because there are far more important things going on in the world atm to be concerned about rather worrying about two squabbling childish, immature posters who can't seem to get along.

As far as I am concerned they can come, go, stay or whatever they like. Their petty sqabbling and sniping makes them look like total fools from where I am watching and does nothing to establish any credibility or integrity for themselves imo.

cheers :)

Ok, No more fence sitting by me.

I vote cheesesticks for little lunch and vegemite sandwiches for lunch.

Suffice to say that the single most useful thing I have learnt on this or any other financial / investment forum was from one of Tech's posts. Some of Tree's comments have been interesting. From a hard factual perspective Tech and his posts do stand scrutiny IMO so I don't pay too much attention to personality issues.

I do, however, dislike a public forum being used as a marketing tool.

This is where I stand, and from looking at the scoreboard so do the majority.

I for one think that tree does need (another) kick in the pants because all he does is flame people and spruik his course. He adds little constructive info. NOT good when your trying to promote a business. I for one would not like him "teaching" me.

Personally I think it's good to see lively debate as long at it doesn't become personal.

And that's really the point here I think. Don't get personal.

There are plenty of people on this forum and elsewhere that I agree with mostly and plenty that I dont' genrally agree with. But I refuse to be drawn into personal comments which have nothing to do with the subject at hand.

Tech - Just accept that Tree wants to sell courses and live with it. If you think Tree is wrong then prove it with facts, figures and logical reasoning. Generally a dood way to sort out who knows their stuff.

Tree - You and Tech clearly don't agree on much. Give us the facts and other information which supports your argument. If you choose not to provide such information then you have to expect that many will be suspicious of you and your motives.

Personally I always aim to provide MORE detail than is required so as to ensure that my point is clearly understood and able to be verified by independent research should anyone wish to do so. Obviously this is not always possible, but where practical I provide the background info in addition to the conclusion.

Smurf, I agree with you 100%. I encourage spirited discourse at ASF as I believe it benefits everyone, but I will not tolerate personal insults or abuse.

I have noticed recently we have had an influx of people from other forums who can't seem to leave their petty, childish arguments and disagreements behind at the other forum. Well I've just about had enough of it and I am getting ready to crack down on this nonsense. I do not want threads on stocks to be clogged up with posts that do not relate to the subject at hand.

Insulting or abusive posts will be deleted without warning and those that persist with this behaviour will be permanently banned from the forums.

Please note that these remarks are directed at a very small minority of ASF members. The vast majority I have absolutely no problem with. :)

Thanks now I know.

Thanks to those who have benifited from the 1800 odd posts.
I understand those who couldnt give a toss.

I guess after 1800 posts Ive said all I need to say.
Everything has its expiry date.Tech and ASF have reached theirs.

There are plenty who will fill shoes.
Techtrader remains on Reefcap for those interested after 3.5 yrs of live trading.

Ill stay registered.
If needed I can be contacted by private mail either here or at Reef.

Cheers.

Shame to lose you Tech,

I've sure learnt a lot. All the best for your future.

Totally agree with getting tough with some of these new members , and I obviously aren't talking about the Tech Money Tree scenario.

This forum is totally unique in that we have next to no ramping and 95% of posts are constructive, and most people seem to have their own and other peoples interests at heart, I say let's keep it that way

Totally agreed there Porper. In general it's good if threads stay on topic and completely free of ramping. That shouldn't preclude the occasional humorous remark etc that comes to mind whilst reading a thread but I certainly wouldn't want this forum to degenerate to the level of a certain other very popular stock forum.

I think ramping is the number one thing that needs to be kept out of ASF.
