How many systems do you use?

This is a question directed towards more experienced traders.

Do most people have one system which they use and have used for a long time? Do others have multiple systems they run at once? If so do people use both long and shorter term systems simultaneously?
How often have people modified their main system over time?

12 systems with 6 more in testing. Like you said, short and long term, real mixture of styles - the idea is to gain diversification through trading styles as in currencies there are less markets to trade.

Part of my selection criteria is that long term historical tests are profitable and consistent. I do not believe in curve fitting, that said however I am experimenting with neuronetwork systems which are meant to be constantly modifying their values. I am unsure of how it will end up long term as at the moment it is very much an experimentation still.

Do you trade all at once?

Well I don't, the algorythms do. They do all trade at the same time. Well scan the market at the same time. Some of them which have a higher degree of correlation between their results will either not take a trade or reduce its risk should the other system be in a trade. Obviously too they are all run on low margin rates as well. Then there is an overall monitor to market monitor to make sure something hugely strange is not occurring and shut the whole thing down should a drawdown point be reached.
