My experience is it can get very hot and nasty on some threads and can be a good place to learn self control.

That's exactly what you didn't have on the SEN threads.
You lost control and posted your share of nonsense as well.
In fact you became a pain in the a**e.

Ignore the crap (90% of posts). Don't get baited by the stirrers.
In time you know which posters have value. It is worth going to H/C for those posters.

The depth of discussion here is more intense. The calibre here is MUCH higher.

Now now.....lets save that stuff for h/c......we are diplomatic in our relations on ASF and of course you know that ASF is holy ground for peace....and you must at least respect me for offering a trading duel as i did post my buys last week on h/c and still hold and have done quite well.

Not to be entirely dismissed.

Its strength lies in the the sheer number of posters.

I find that if an obscure stock suddenly does something out of the ordinary HC is often the quickest reference since you can bet there is a poster there who is familiar with the stock, has some idea of what's going on, and is keen to tell the world.

Of course what they post may or may not be entirely accurate but at worst the info is worth what you're paying for it

I joined for fun and i wasnt on last nite Snake as i have been suspended but i must admit it can help break up boring days on the market as its ok to act like a total mixed up milkshake and have no shame about it....what name do you use on h/c? i use equity

ITs sheer strength lies in the no. of posters...

Alot of ramping, but there are a few posters who know their stuff...

And hotCopper gives u good indications to buy also...

eg. Classic H/C buy signal: few or no posts OR negative posts!!

I found the best way to shut up silly talkers and know nothings on h/c was just ask them to a trading duel as that is basically a put up or shut up and that really reveals if they actually trade successfully in the market or not.

One of the most funniest times i had on h/c was when chicken was my enemy here on ASF but on h/C he was my best mate as i was equity and he didnt know for weeks he even was acccusing other members of being TheAnalyst and i was just p**sing myself for ages then one day he found out.

Definately the "smartest" forum out there..

They have a tipping contest where u pick 3 stocks and u have to say ur reasoning. A good read...

Much prefer the general "ethos" of ASF which owes a lot to the moderators.
These seem to be totally lacking on HC.
Share Scene is well run but rather boring.
