HDR - Hardman Resources

No announcements, so I think it is just expectation building up; I sold about 30% of my holdings @ 2.11 and see what way it moves. Limited downside of course and could pocket another 20% if a reasonable counterbid is made.

The announcement this morning that JP Morgan has been steadily buying 25 million shares since the buy-out announcement might explain why this has risen a bit. The question is of course: why have they been doing this? To get exposure to Tullow, or do they know something that we don't know??

Hardman Resources, Tullow or the cash????

Hello ASF peeps,

I fortunately own 20,000 shares of HDR. I bought them in two 10,000 lots in may 06 and the other in June 06.

As the takeover by Tullow is now approved, I have two options:

1) For 47% of my HDR shares to be converted to Tullow shares and the rest cash of $2.02.

2) All cashed out at $2.02

Now the tricky bit is the tax issues, I have not held the shares for more than 12 months, so I get slammed 50%.

I am tempted to take option one purely for the tax benefit of holding for the next 4 months and then selling.

What are HDR share holders doing???

Is there anyway i can avoid collecting the money so as to gain the benefit of holding for more than 12 months??

I am sure everyone shares my hate in paying tax ;o)

Thanks in advance...

Benwex

Re: Hardman Resources, Tullow or the cash????

This isn't advice, merely what I would do.

I'd ignore tax implications. If you think this offer is as good as you're going to get then take it. If not, keep goling.

I personally think Tullow got HDR for a song so I'd be taking the shares. That "takeover" defence of theirs almost made me cry.

Ben,

Your query has been merged into the HDR thread as I think it will be of interest to all Hardman holders.

where has hardman gone?

Hardman resources was listed on the ASX , can anyone tell me where they are or who has taken them over?
The last I heard they had a good drilling propect in the Falkland Is.
Are they tied up with Oil shales in USA?

Tullow energy from UK took them over if I remember correctly...

A new company is running with very similar members named Key Energy, First well will begin any day.

Taken over by Tullow Oil in January and no longer exists. You can find out more in the HDR announcements prior to January.
