The first elected President of Indonesia after Suharto. A disabled cleric and much loved leader. He was accused of corruption and left office, to be followed by Megawati.

He was a good man who did the best he could.

Maybe not a great man but more a man of his times. He can claim part of the legacy of the present very good democracy in the country.
