I have unwittingly downloaded a Google Sidebar which is taking up the right hand side of my screen. Could someone please tell me how to remove this?
It's not listed in "Add or Remove Programmes".
With thanks.

You should be able to do that from the "options" menu but it should definitely be in your ad remove list in control panel, have a another look.

Go to "Start"->"All Programs"->"Google Desktop"->'Uninstall Google Desktop".

Hope this helps.

Give me a break Mr Burns. Do you think I'd be asking for a solution on the forum if I hadn't looked thoroughly at Ad/Remove list several times!!!

Thanks, Mayk. I've succeeded in removing it from the main screen but it still exists in the bar at the bottom. That isn't so much of a problem.

No problem at all Julia, just ask for help any time, you're so gracious and appreciative.:rolleyes:

Mr Burns, if you had helped I would indeed have been very appreciative, as I was to Mayk.
But I'd already said it didn't appear in Add/Remove, so your suggesting I was too silly to see it wasn't particularly helpful.

i dont see anywhere in your post that you were suggesting that julia was silly, as far as i can read you were just trying to be helpfull

Thanks jackson8, :) I was going to load the sidebar then uninstall it to help, glad I didnt. You have to have that installed to know how to uninstall it, my suggestions were quite reasonable, the fact that Julia automatically thinks people take her for stupid just because she's female is a problem she'll have to deal with.

Oh dear, I humbly apologise for my ingratitude.
But if I say I have looked and you say "have another look", then that implies that I was silly enough not to have seen it.

I hope you will have a very happy and prosperous New Year.

NO thats implies you may have not seen it when you looked in the first place, that doesn't imply you were silly. It should have been in the list in control panel, Google Toolbar is so maybe you DID miss it.

Anyway have a charming day.
