Google Earth - for Property Investment

Its pretty good.

Only problem is its showing the world as it was 3 yrs ago.
Searched my warehouse and office and found that next door hadnt been built yet.
That was 3-4 yrs ago.

When I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago it said that it only works with a broadband internet connection.

NOT TRUE.

It works with dialup, just takes a while for the images to display in full resolution when you zoom in. So don't be put off by all the "must have broadband" warnings if you have a dialup connection. (Connection speed when I tested it was 45.2K - no problems either downloading or running unless you're in a real hurry.)

Just one thing though, the resolution of the photos does vary depending on the location. Adelaide and especially Brisbane are very good, Hobart not so good. Haven't checked elsewhere yet...

And I still can't find a few buildings that I just know are there in roughly that area. Everything looks different from the air...

:)

Tech/a,

I did not realise that the image was 3/4 years ago. The program is 2005, I thought it would be this year image.

Smurf1976,

Thanks for letting me know about the dial up, I will install on my dad computer soon because he love it.

Jet find somewhere where you know a developement happened in the last 3----5 yrs and have a look youll see what I mean.

Think live would have some security issues.

Try having a look at area 51 in Nevada.

Tech/a,

There was a new development in my area 2 years ago. It's a block of 4 townhouse and 2 villas, but when I check it out, it shown empty land. Therefore, you are correct. The image seem to be at least 2 years old.

The Google Earth image of New York City is definitely out of date.

The twin towers of the World Trade Center are still standing.

Oooops!

Weird,

When i look it up they are gone..is there different versions?

Hmmm... I just went and checked again and it seems you are right. The last time I checked was few weeks ago. Perhaps they have updated some of the images since then.
