Full C/Y 2023 Stock Tipping Competition

Narrowed it down to 40 companies then goylt bored and selected first 4 that looked good from fundamentals.

I think dividends and industrials will make a comeback.

Bfg- the risky one.
Gng - engineering.
Lov - growth and dividends.
CHN - the mining company with a future.

My picks

1. FANG (if allowed) ETF holding 10 of the NASDAQ stocks including Tesla which after a discussion last night as at a NYE party is a screaming buy

2. LKE lithium miner still in development stage but getting close is the plant works out

3. ARU rare earths miner

4. GL1 lithium miner

My picks are based on EV and batteries as an area where growth will be in the next twelve months

Iggy

Good Morning @access, if SMN hasn't traded at least $100,000 in value in the five trading days prior to entry please select another. Thanks
Hi debtfree,
I did not realise that SMN ( and a couple of other options I considered as substitutes) had traded so quietly (under $100k) during the past week.

Would you please substitute IMU to replace SMN.

Thanks

yes that turnover clause after the last month on the ASX , certainly makes it tougher

but maybe January will be even worse

good luck

Welcome to the Unofficial Full CY 2023 Stock Tipping Competition everyone! Yes I know it's a little late but we're going to give the yearly competition another go in 2023. I'll pinch @Joe Blow words with a couple of changes.

We will run the Comp as normal but remember there is no prize money this year so you only win bragging rights and maybe some experience. Feel free to have some fun along the way.
There is some experienced traders at ASF so it'll be great to see what they pick and follow them over the year. I remember @tech/a words last year "gives you an insight to medium term trading"

Just a reminder that no changes of entries are allowed during the year, so please choose carefully and with a 12 month time frame in mind. All stocks selected must be $0.10 or more at the time of entry.

The rules for the 2023 full calendar year stock tipping competition are as follows:

  • Each entrant must select four ASX listed stocks.
  • No stocks that are trading at less than $0.10 on the day of entry may be entered.
  • A stock must have traded at least $100,000 in value in the five trading days prior to entry to be eligible.
  • If a stock is taken over it can be replaced. The exit price shall be taken to be the takeover price. The new stock must be nominated before the date the taken over stock ceases trading and the entry price of the new stock shall be taken to be the closing price on the day the taken over stock ceases trading.
  • You must post in the thread of each of your competition entries, detailing why you think the share price of each will increase in 2023.
  • The competition will run from Tuesday, 3rd January 2023 to Friday, 29th December 2023.
  • Entry prices will be the price at the close of trading on Friday, 30th December 2022

The winner is the entrant who has the highest average percentage gain for all four stocks.

Once again, To qualify for the competition you must post in the thread of each of your competition entries, detailing why you think their share prices will increase in 2023.

Entries are now open. Please enter at your convenience by posting your entries in this thread. You can post in the threads on your competition entries anytime between now and the end of this month.

Please consider sharing this thread on social media to gain more exposure for the 2023 competition.

If you have any comments, feedback, or questions, please post them in this thread.

Thanks and good luck! :)

Since I expect to win this year, I am going to donate $1000 to ASF, and to the winner of this year's unofficial yearly comp.

Good luck to all.

Hi debtfree
Thanks to doing the hard yards and talking this on.
No need for bragging rights either. I’ll be happy just finishing in the green.

Thanks and may we all have a prosperous new year

Thanks, but I had a crap year on paper. Hopefully $1k gets some punters interested in putting in some more noms.

I'm not sure if picks close tonight or by mid-Jan @debtfree ?
Monday the 2nd at midnight at this stage, unless @Joe Blow instructs differently.

Thanks very much Sean for the generous offer of the prize money for the Competition :xyxthumbs . I can't believe it, so generous of you and I'm sure all would agree.

The rather trivial and completely uncomplicated XAO prediction thread is open for entries until mid Jan, and running with little consequence till end Dec. Prize money amounts to approx zilch, rounded out to $0.00. (Unless, say, gunnerguy with his likely infallible 3-sigma modality coughs up some prize money?)

Other competitions, reflecting their intellectual input, close sooner.

All the best to everyone and keep posting!!

O.K if I still qualify on the time limit.

The Govt's of the World are wedged, E.V's are a must have because the Govt's have given themselves no wriggle room, so battery materials will be boom, boom ,boom IMO.
If there is one thing the private sector can smell, it is Govt's under pressure and how to make money out of it. ?
