Thanks @debtfree and @Joe Blow for the effort in delivering this CY 2023 Comp Update.

It is wide open, with the ASX charging up these past few weeks and it would be folly to count my eggs yet. We all sit on a ship of stock whose value is set by the amount the next person will buy for it, which any day could fall under an escalation of war declared and undeclared within and outside our region. Our domestic worries pale in comparison to the wretched lives some people lead under aggression by their cousins in humanity.

Anyways, it is beyond our control here on ASF. Good luck to all entrants. One of those not mentioned may yet charge through to take the prize.

It is very interesting, which is the spice of the good life.

four green tips .. can i manage it ??

that will be as good as a win for me

good luck everyone

Can someone tell me how these bus tickets work? I’ve had to sell the Merc. Still, I hear the local soup kitchen is putting on a bonza Christmas lunch! 🤣
last i tried them in Brisbane .. badly

readers glitch , cards get damaged , and sometimes the system has big problems

the upside is i got two free trips because the driver wasn't permitted to accept cash .. and it was peak hour ( so heaps of intending passengers )

haven't resorted to soup kitchens ..yet ( and no Merc. to sell )

who invests in Day 1 of a year and holds for 365 days?
An index investor.

I buy a fixed amount of the asx300 and the global index every Thursday in my super and never sell it.

I measure my performance against the index, and if over a rolling 5 year period I failed to beat the index, I would give up my direct investing and go 100% into the index.

fair enough , but that strategy is not available to me , and i suspect to some of our younger members

i assume you mean a fixed dollar amount

( i tried a fixed number of shares in 2011 on each buy in a sliding market and i deem that an error )

cheers
