Welcome to the Unofficial Full CY 2023 Stock Tipping Competition everyone! Yes I know it's a little late but we're going to give the yearly competition another go in 2023. I'll pinch @Joe Blow words with a couple of changes.

We will run the Comp as normal but remember there is no prize money this year so you only win bragging rights and maybe some experience. Feel free to have some fun along the way.
There is some experienced traders at ASF so it'll be great to see what they pick and follow them over the year. I remember @tech/a words last year "gives you an insight to medium term trading"

Just a reminder that no changes of entries are allowed during the year, so please choose carefully and with a 12 month time frame in mind. All stocks selected must be $0.10 or more at the time of entry.

The rules for the 2023 full calendar year stock tipping competition are as follows:

  • Each entrant must select four ASX listed stocks.
  • No stocks that are trading at less than $0.10 on the day of entry may be entered.
  • A stock must have traded at least $100,000 in value in the five trading days prior to entry to be eligible.
  • If a stock is taken over it can be replaced. The exit price shall be taken to be the takeover price. The new stock must be nominated before the date the taken over stock ceases trading and the entry price of the new stock shall be taken to be the closing price on the day the taken over stock ceases trading.
  • You must post in the thread of each of your competition entries, detailing why you think the share price of each will increase in 2023.
  • The competition will run from Tuesday, 3rd January 2023 to Friday, 29th December 2023.
  • Entry prices will be the price at the close of trading on Friday, 30th December 2022

The winner is the entrant who has the highest average percentage gain for all four stocks.

Once again, To qualify for the competition you must post in the thread of each of your competition entries, detailing why you think their share prices will increase in 2023.

Entries are now open. Please enter at your convenience by posting your entries in this thread. You can post in the threads on your competition entries anytime between now and the end of this month.

Please consider sharing this thread on social media to gain more exposure for the 2023 competition.

If you have any comments, feedback, or questions, please post them in this thread.

Thanks and good luck! :)

PLS for me, has fallen a bit lately but should gather great momentum after pivot.
I know energy and 10c SP could do better in % gain but will stick to PLS

@qldfrog that's a good start but as it's the 2023 Yearly Comp and you need 4 entries. Don't forget ... Once again, To qualify for the competition you must post in the thread of each of your competition entries,

An Italian bloke called Dante from Ingham just walked in to the hotel and said.

" Beware all ye who enter here "

@debtfree Thanks for continuing the tradition. Prizemoney not required when there's valuable "bragging rights" to be earned.

29M - Copper producer and the world needs more copper. Getting a discounted price now after some operational downgrades.
JRV - Cobalt producer, been disappointed by the falling price recently, won't lose money selecting it for the comp.
RED - Gold producer WA, located in an area that's ripe for corporate consolidations and mergers.
SGX - Gold explorer in Victoria getting massive drill hits. Needs more time to define resource.

Could make a case for uranium, nickel and graphite producers but can't include them all. I think commodities especially gold/silver to rock our world in 2023.

a better chance you than me .. ( having something to brag over )

good luck

BTW since there is no prize-money up for grabs this time , can the winner have a negative result ( aggregate loss for the year ) ??

that would encourage extra shy folk to enter

Once you have put in your 4 selections and commented in each of their threads why you think their share prices will increase in 2023 I will give you a ? meaning your entry has fully qualified

LOL i am just trying to pick 4 businesses that will still be in business at the end of 2023

a tempting play would be OZL ( but i am NOT picking it ) a fair chance at a rise before the take-over completes , and a late bite at the cherry midway during the year

Good morning debtfree,
Good on you for taking this one on.

rcw1 selections:

LTR (not holding) - why: two words really Tim Goyder, moreover, for mine, Lithium is going places in 2023;
LYC (not holding) - why: one abbreviation really REE, moreover, for mine, the company is best placed to take forward what is required regarding production and supply chains, US defense force, great demand construct ...
NCM (holding) - why: two words really Gold Copper, this company is best placed to pocket coin with good commodity prices during 2023 ? Plenty of opportunity for SP to move back towards that $30 mark all going well;
STX (holding) - why: one word - gas ... moreover, fertiliser production diversity ...(downside they may well need more cash)

Kind regards
rcw1
