Famous people who have died

Mike Lynch has gone down with a luxury yacht off Palermo in Italy. A freak tornado-like storm caused it. Mike, a billionaire tech entrepreneur just escaped the clutches of HP in a fraud case in LA just recently.

It just goes to show that money is not everything.

The world's known oldest person, a lady in the US of A finally succumbed and gasped her last breath and keeled over at the wonderful age of 117.
This title now goes to a lady in China at 116 years of age.

Vale Dame Maggie Smith.
Top tier. The best.
Absolutely. Some excellent stories about her contribution to acting and her skill. The obituary pulls together a number of other stories

kris kristofferson has died aged 88.
Although he had a great solo career, writing and performing the likes of Me and Bobby Magee and Help me make it through the night.
But for me the highlight was his formation of the Highwaymen with the likes of johnny Cash Willie nelson and Waylon Jennings.
And eh started life as a commercial Helicopter Pilot on oil rigs.
Great talent.

eh? At the age of 17, Kristofferson took a summer job with a dredging contractor on Wake Island in the western Pacific Ocean. He called it "the hardest job I ever had".

from a military family, he was pressured to enlist, learned to fly and yes, flew choppers in the Gulf (Mexico). But prior to that, he was a Rhodes Scholar. Obviously a talented guy

Mid sixties found him as a janitor in a Nashville recording studio, where he pressed songs on to June Carter and Johnny Cash. And was there when Dylan recorded Nashville Skyline.

I know who Harry Styles is. No clue who the others in one direction are/were.

"We have a guest who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol. When he is conscious, he breaks everything in the room and we need you to send someone, please," the manager of CasaSur, located at 6032 Costa Rica Street, is heard saying.

Tragic death. And the #1 reason why illegal drugs should be legalised.

A bit of an aside - but 20+ years ago it was commonplace to show horrific injuries associated with workplace accidents, drug use, alcohol abuse, and others to scare people straight. Don't think we do it anymore. But would be good for the world and teenagers to see this guys corpse bleeding out on the ground along side likely pictures of alcohol and drugs.

Yeah , bring back the good 'ole internet days of " Live Leak "and oh lordy , the Canadian neonazi 's " Best Gore "
They both did wonders for " health and safety " , worldwide .
I remember on a trip to India , crossing to the other side of the street , rather than scurry past one of their hell-hole tyre repair shops .
