The foal died despite round the clock care after 2 days. Very sad.

kris kristofferson has died aged 88.
Although he had a great solo career, writing and performing the likes of Me and Bobby Magee and Help me make it through the night.
But for me the highlight was his formation of the Highwaymen with the likes of johnny Cash Willie nelson and Waylon Jennings.
And eh started life as a commercial Helicopter Pilot on oil rigs.
Great talent.

eh? At the age of 17, Kristofferson took a summer job with a dredging contractor on Wake Island in the western Pacific Ocean. He called it "the hardest job I ever had".
from a military family, he was pressured to enlist, learned to fly and yes, flew choppers in the Gulf (Mexico). But prior to that, he was a Rhodes Scholar. Obviously a talented guy
Mid sixties found him as a janitor in a Nashville recording studio, where he pressed songs on to June Carter and Johnny Cash. And was there when Dylan recorded Nashville Skyline.

Tragic death. And the #1 reason why illegal drugs should be legalised.
A bit of an aside - but 20+ years ago it was commonplace to show horrific injuries associated with workplace accidents, drug use, alcohol abuse, and others to scare people straight. Don't think we do it anymore. But would be good for the world and teenagers to see this guys corpse bleeding out on the ground along side likely pictures of alcohol and drugs.

They both did wonders for " health and safety " , worldwide .
I remember on a trip to India , crossing to the other side of the street , rather than scurry past one of their hell-hole tyre repair shops .
