Etrade, down again?

What sort of sevice is e-trade providing for it's customers? I dont like to whinge but this has cost me $$. Is there a more reliable site? Comsec ect?

I use these guys, phone is always answered immediately if you have a query, always helpful.
I run three accounts through them (SMSF, trading and ASX CFD's) and have never had a problem.

ok just looked at website

no cfd trading but cheap asx brokerage .........

ppl here use it ? and if so .how reliable are they ?

looks like their website no longer uses gzip compression and their links cant cope with all the extra traffic. gg etrade

I'm finalising my move off etrade.

I think they are (were) good for medium to long term trades & research, short term however and staying with the tick isn't working and with $33 brokerage on most of my trades, can't see the value.

I've picked up Paritech Pulse & very happy with the data service.

This online broker has become a real pain in the proverbial. Ongoing problems for weeks now. Today market depth freezing. Have had a couple of sales go through without knowing where I stood. Others as pi$$ed orf too?

I'd love to get rid of the AGP shares which appear in my portfolio.

They are no longer listed on ASX, haven't been for quite a while, but somehow Etrade thinks I still own them which clearly isn't the case.

A few emails and they just pass the buck. It's a trivial issue, but they ought to be able to fix it I'd think.

yep. Last two weeks on and off. Sometimes portfolio shows nothing, then when portfolio does work "market depth" shows nothing.
Every 2 days a message on the front page saying something like " ... sorry for the inconvenience".
I'm inclined to believe they're being hacked.

According to Etrade, "ANZ is not a valid code" and nor is BHP, TLS or WOW.

Really? I'd have thought it would have been on the news if ANZ had been delisted since that would be a rather significant event I'd think. For that matter, according to Etrade the entire ASX has disappeared so I thought that would have at least had a brief mention in the media or on this forum somewhere. It's not every day that an entire market disappears, now is it?

I've just about had enough of this mob and their constant buck passing ("contact your adviser") whenever yet another one of their repeated problems arises.

For the record, I'm 99.999% sure that ANZ is still listed and still in business. It's just that Etrade doesn't seem to think so. :2twocents
