Back in the 60's and early 70's seeing mums shopping wearing sunglasses was common, the best thing Gough did was to introduce the single mothers pension so mothers could leave with the kids.

Because there are a certain percentage of duds in life, what the loonies think is that all the duds need is a bit of nurturing and understanding, that is until they have a dud in their house who actually doesn't really give a $hit.And you are correct, it is a different world now, we have improved immensely. But all these privacy claims and legal jargon seems to be turning us around again. The facts are showing no decrease in the past 8 years. Why?

I presume that you understand how the internet works, and that a Twitter account requires membership and password, whereas access to the internet is as simple as opening the browser. Which gives access to all sorts of violent and pornographic content. Why do you think one is bad and the other good?
As for your examples, I wonder whether you bothered to find all the facts or just grabbed what you thought useful for your crusade.
Do you know what the executed Vietcong in that footage did before he was captured? FYI, he hunted down a General of his enemy and murdered the family, including children. Both were atrocities of war, and his execution was unlawful, but the media didn't bother printing the whole story because the message was stronger as an anti-Vietnam war story than it was about the full story.
No single person or organisation should have the right to choose what is banned or how it is reported.
Using children as the reason to ban the truth is a lie and a copout. Children should be supervised; adult content should be made difficult to access for children.
What are you going to say next, that all adult content and vises be banned because children may get access?

The facts you seem to think I've plucked from my arse come from a couple of works I do have in my possesion John Pilgers 'Heroes' and Chistopher Hithens 'The Trial of Henry Kissinger'.

Boy, 14, killed in east London sword attack

A teenage boy died on Tuesday after a man wielding a sword stabbed the youth, two police and two other people, in a street attack in east London.
The man used what appeared to be a Samurai-type sword in the Hainault district shortly before 7:00am (0600 GMT).
Police said they arrested a 36-year-old man using Taser stun weapons and took him into custody. The incident is not believed to be terror-related, they said.
Video showed a bearded man dressed in a yellow hoodie allegedly armed with a large blade. One resident told The Times the man leapt over garden fences as people shouted “he’s got a massive knife”.
Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell, from London’s Metropolitan Police, said all five victims were taken to hospital.
The two police officers were awaiting surgery for “significant” injuries, he added. But they, and those sustained by the two members of the public, were not believed to be life-threatening.
“It’s with great sadness that one of those injured in this incident, a 14-year-old boy, has died from their injuries,” he told reporters at the scene.
“He was taken to hospital after being stabbed and sadly died a short while after.” Mr Bell called the incident “truly horrific” and said specialist officers were supporting the boy’s family.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called the stabbings “shocking”. “Such violence has no place on our streets,” he added in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Emergency service vehicles, including police, fire and ambulances, were seen behind cordons, including near the town’s underground railway station.
James Fernando, 39, told The Times he knew the boy because he and his family lived on the same road as him.
Mr Fernando said he saw a “man get out of a dark grey Transit van which was crushed at the front” before approaching one of his neighbours. “Within two seconds he pulled out a massive sword from the back of his trousers,” he said.
The witness claimed that the man then struck the teenage boy. Fernando said he rushed outside and found the boy lying on the ground. Fernando said the man “still had the sword in his hand and started running down the houses to escape officers, swinging the sword at the same time”, adding: “It is quite traumatising and it’s hitting me now.”
One resident, who asked not to be named, said she hid behind a window while the suspect was outside her home shouting “do you believe in God?” at police.
“We were very scared and trying to hide and not show ourselves through the window because he was standing right next to our house and he could have seen us if he looked up,” she added.
“We were very scared and we didn’t know what to do.” Another witness said he saw two police chasing the man, shouting at him to put down the weapon.
Police in England, Scotland and Wales are not routinely armed but do carry Taser weapons to disable suspects.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan said he was “absolutely devastated” by the incident and was in close contact with the city police commissioner.

Youth crime using knives is common.
And here we are advocating showing gratuitous violence in violation of Australia's broadcasting standards which have been developed over decades.
