I think in Australia the debate often happens away from Parliament. There are lots of shows that do good debates. Insiders, Press Club etc. the debate created by AFR regarding PWC is quite interesting. The big problem in both countries is a feckless electorate, incapable of grasping arguments outside of those fed to them by their own echo chamber.
Reasonable debate is dead.
I don't share your optimism. A small minority have critical thinking, most are programmable automatons.I think in Australia the debate often happens away from Parliament. I think Australians are more engaged as they have to vote.
I think if you talk to young people they are less likely to fall into the echo chamber stuff. Bit more savvy with technology.
You know what I think about that example.I don't share your optimism. A small minority have critical thinking, most are programmable automatons.
The feckin ridiculousness of the promulgation of ludicrous "pronouns" and inability to regard human biology being a prime example.
Our youth are lost, big time.
Mck I have heard via several media outlets that being imprisoned ion the US is not counted against running for POTUS. Seems absurd to me and with the red neck brigade following this clown, then the possibility of the Trumpet being elected is a real possibility. There are not too many things that prevent someone from running for president.
1. They have already served two terms as president.
2. They are not born American citizens.
3. They are less than 35 years old.
4. They have not been resident in the USA for at leat 14 years.
5. They have been impeached by congress and the house of reps.
No mention of felonies, serving jail time etc.

And if Governments happen to let something benefit the peasants then gee we won't let that happen again.I have always been of the opinion that there are too many rules and regulations.
As has been seen so many times in the past, political ar$eholes will use the system to eliminate opponents.
There fewer opportunities are given , the better the system is.
Elimination should be left to the only section that matters, the voting public.
Governments are there for the people, not the political parties.

It also gives those who "might" vote for Trump, every reason "to" vote for Trump.People fail to realise that all these "allegations" is basically free advertising for Trump.
He stays in the headlines, so is on everyone's mind constantly.
Though the Trumpet has a way of being news using of detrimental type.People fail to realise that all these "allegations" is basically free advertising for Trump.

Wayne I guess you are referring to the "red necks" and "brain dead" morons in society in thegood 'ol US of A.It also gives those who "might" vote for Trump, every reason "to" vote for Trump.
No, the morons are the people who vote for criminal families, Alzheimer's patients and stroke victims, people who are happy with a kleptomaniac crossdresser being in charge of aspects of nuclear policy. People who still believe collusion hoaxes despite being conclusively proved as a hoax. People who are happy to mutilate their children's genitals... I could go on ad infinitum, but I'm sure you know who i meanWayne I guess you are referring to the "red necks" and "brain dead" morons in society in thegood 'ol US of A.

If Biden is shown to have taken a bribe we may get outsider like Kennedy. If Republican voters were smart they would register democrat and vote him on the primaries. Then it's a win-win for them.Basically independents vote in US presidents if the parties can get their base out Trump has no real hope.
The media and the muppets have brought this on themselves IMO, if they hadn't made such a concerted effort to demonise Trump when he was in office, they wouldn't have the issue of having him as a martyr now.People fail to realise that all these "allegations" is basically free advertising for Trump.

Politically they deserve everything they get in the U.S, a self serving republic, full of self serving people, scrambling to lie their way to the top of the morally bereft political system.
That works depend on who they vote in otherwiseI think if Trump gets in again that would be true, if he doesn't then that would indicate that the majority of Americans have some commonsense.
Just my opinion.

It is entirely possible that both of them won't be the final choice.True, there is not much of a choice really.
