Only in America can denying an event took place can count as defamation.Back to the topic thread - Donald Trump legal issues in particular Jean Carroll defamation case.
Last year Jean Carroll successfully sued Trump for defamation. A civil jury accepted that she had been sexually abused by Donald Trump and that when he accused her of being a liar, that he never knew the woman, that she was just a nut case - he was defaming her.
Jean Carroll was awarded $5m in the first defamation trial.
This result sent Trump into a town hall attack where he repeated and re repeated the same defamatory lies about Jean Carroll. It was clear the defamation result was insufficient to stop Donald Trump from insisting he did nothing/Jean was a liar/ and so on. So she took him back to court for repeating the defamations. A new jury awarded damages of $83m against Donald Trump for his actions.
Trump declared he would appeal the new decision. He has just posted a $92 million bond to allow him appeal rights.
So what does Trump do next ? He comes out in Georgia and defames Jean Carroll again and again.
At a rally in Georgia on Saturday night, Donald Trump launched a fresh attack on writer E. Jean Carroll that may hand the New York writer's lawyers reason to file a new lawsuit against him as well as kill the $92 million appeals bond he just posted on Friday.
Appearing with the hosts on MSNBC's "The Weekend," legal analyst Lisa Rubin was stunned at the former president creating new problems for himself after the judge in the two trials gave Carroll's attorneys the option of opposing the bond.
Before we laughed at yanks, how's our numbers going?
Didn't we have the greatest drop of living standards on record?
How's housing?
Energy supply?
Immigration?
Education?
How's the health sector?
Or society's mental health?
How's the protection of our human rights?
How's the future of our young people looking?
Debt levels?
Our system is a bloated bureaucracy that needs heavy culling.
They are all the same. That's what happens after 10 years of conservative government
That all seems to have gone by the wayside, so I guess it all moves on to the next case. The sad, poor me look..

Thirty surety companies have rejected Donald Trump's efforts to secure a bond to cover a $US454 million ($690.86 million) judgement in a New York civil fraud case, bringing him closer to the possibility of having his properties seized.
- In short: Thirty companies rejected bond applications by Donald Trump, two of his adult children and other Trump Organization executives.
- A February judgement ordered Mr Trump to pay $US454 million for misstating property values to dupe lenders and insurers.
- What's next? He has until March 25 to either pay the sum in cash or post a bond, or risk the state seizing Trump Organization's assets.
The former president must either pay the sum out of his own pocket or post a bond to stave off the state's seizure while he appeals Justice Arthur Engoron's February 16 judgement against him for misstating property values to dupe lenders and insurers.
Mr Trump, two of his adult children and other Trump Organization executives had so far approached the 30 companies through four separate brokers without success, his lawyers said on Monday (local time).

They seem to be intentionally bolstering The God Emperor's election prospects via being extraordinarily and profoundly stupid, nay, absolutely moronic. That all seems to have gone by the wayside, so I guess it all moves on to the next case.
Why do you say that SP ? He has to pony up $175m 10 days. The appeals court will still hear the case and Trump is still on the hook for the full profits the Court decided he had achieved through fraudulent practices. It hasn't disappeared. That all seems to have gone by the wayside, so I guess it all moves on to the next case.
I thought I heard that was done , but there was a new case he had to front up for, some hooker he paid off. There is so many cases it's hard to keep up.Why do you say that SP ? He has to pony up $175m 10 days. The appeals court will still hear the case and Trump is still on the hook for the full profits the Court decided he had achieved through fraudulent practices. It hasn't disappeared.
It is still the case that Trump has to come up with the $175m. Lets see what happens.
