Australian (ASX) Stock Market Forum

Diggers and Dealers Mining Forum

Just noticed all the presentations being released this morning by the companies presenting at the conference. Lots of reading to do over the next few days.

Given what has happened to the market over the last few months there might well be some undervalued hidden gems among them.

I've just got it streaming on one of my screens. Should provide some good insights, especially question time. At the end of NCMs preso now.

Been flat out the last few days and didn't get to tune in. Any interesting projects or companies come up? I know the job of management is to sell the company's prospects, but there has to be some undervalued gems in that lineup.

There was nothing market sensitive that I saw. Everything already announced. But, if you were just betting on management's presentation skills, a few stood out, and a few looked ordinary. Talking to your slides instead of the audience is a presentation no-no 101. Some even sounded pretty nervous. Gaines couldn't even get the FMG Gulfstream to take off.

I think we should take an ASF contingent to next years event, 7-9 Aug 23. Joe's shout. :)

Did JRV happen to stand out at all ?

Not really. I missed half his preso, but was sort of in line with the rest of the battery metal miners. All very bullish about electrification and how their products were going to fill the significant supply/demand gap approaching around 2025-30.

I was thinking more along the lines of companies with very prospective drill ready "company maker" type projects. Would be good to get into the next RTR before the first "Bonanaza grade" or "Major Discovery" announcements are released. It's always a gamble I know, but the next minnow to make good is always just around the corner.

I'm game, but we might have to crowdfund it. Should we set up a Go Fund Me page?
I see no reason why we should not have our own Winter Aussiestock Roundup in 2023.

The geographical centre of Australia is Lambert Centre about 200km south of Alice Springs. I've never been there but the Arnage should manage it.

On second thoughts a city may be preferable. It can get quite cold at night in the NT during winter, and many would be more comfortable going metropolitan.

I may even buy a new fedora, suit, and tie, and trim some extra Cohibas for the event.

I am quite sure it would get good coverage and some sponsorship from the media, which would be more along the lines of a person booking a conference hall, marshalling the attendees and collecting fees which Švejk assures me should be tax deductible. As would travel expenses. The usual suspects could attend from the finance sector to give lectures, as well as those of ASF willing to present.

So @Joe Blow ........

The best value (ramp) was probably from Nickel Search who claimed to be the 'best nickel sulphide explorer' on the ASX. The MD, Nicole, a lawyer, gave a good lesson on how Ni deposits are formed during her preso, but I'm not sure if that went down well with a room half full of geo's. They are on some good ground, and have a resource, but not sure if it's elephant country. But anyway, she was the best ramper of a minnow at the event that I saw. But no RTR/CHN types to me.

And ... looming for 2023

Diggers and Dealers chairman Jim Walker said just 27 gold companies would present at the three-day forum, out of 66 presenters.
"It's the first time in the history of Diggers and Dealers that battery metals presenters have surpassed gold presenters," Mr Walker said.
"This is the future of where mining's going to … we need battery metals to make the world a better place."

It comes after Resources Minister Madeleine King recently pointed to research estimating the world would need 50 new lithium mines, 60 new nickel mines and 17 new cobalt mines to meet global demand for electricity storage by 2030.

I'm keen to get to this one one year. Plus Perth and Noosa conferences.

This year's D&D presentations are being uploaded to YouTube again for those wanting to listen to the MDs direct. Not sure why they don't allow a few minutes of question time. I suppose they make themselves available at their respective booths and the pubs.
