Did you know ..
The mathematician Kurt Gödel was obsessed by the fear that he would die by poisoning. He refused to eat a meal unless it was prepared by his wife, the only person he trusted. When she fell ill and was sent to hospital, Gödel died of starvation.

His death is sad, but also ironic: The man who discovered that even logical systems are incomplete — that some truths are unprovable — died because he demanded complete proof that his food was safe. He demanded more of his lasagne than he did of logic.

“Don’t eat unless you are 100 per cent certain your food is safe” is a principle that will kill a person as certainly as any poison. So, in the face of uncertainty about our food we take precautions and then we eat — knowing there remains the slimmest chance an unknown enemy has laced our meal with arsenic.

A heart attack (medically referred to as a myocardial infarction) might lead to:
  • Chest pain – a feeling of pressure, heaviness, tightness or squeezing across your chest
  • Pain in other parts of the body – it can feel as if the pain is spreading from your Chest to your arms (usually the left arm, but it can affect both arms), jaw, neck, back and tummy
  • Feeling lightheaded or dizzy
  • Sweating
  • Shortness of breath
  • Feeling sick (nausea) or being sick (vomiting)
  • An overwhelming feeling of anxiety (similar to a panic attack)
  • Coughing or wheezing.
Any of these signs should be reported as a medical emergency.

During the six weeks of treatment, LDL-C decreased by 48.5% with the daily dosing regimen, compared with 40.9% with the alternate day dosing regimen (Figure 1).

Some five dollar notes can be particularly valuable with the right serial numbers or if in mint condition, reaching up to $6,500 for the rarest Australian $5 note.

Back in 1967 a man and wife walked proudly in Brisbane with two new $5 notes in his pocket. He pulled out a handkerchief and the notes fell from his pocket. A gust of wind blew them high into a bush. They both reached for the notes and their hands met together. They exclaimed simultaneously, "HIGH FIVES!" being happy with the outcome.

Thus this is where the term 'high fives" comes from.

Please disregard any other stories as this was a first.

You can still buy a 'Penny Farthing' - this new vintage model would set you back around $1,000. Old models up to $12,000.
