Hi all,
Gratitude in advance.
New here, but been lurking and absorbing like a sponge.
Background: I'm 38, have watched the markets for more than a decade and participated too.
Moved in from the UK in 2018. Now located in Melbourne, and currently between jobs. I plan to restart day-trading (always been my style) now that there's a bit of time on hands. Having had a successful career, have a bit saved on the side, currently sitting in off-set, part of which I will be dedicating to trading. Back in the uK, I used to hire Bloomberg terminals for 30-45 mins once a week, so I'm well entrenched in the methods, but am a bit confused with the tool selection here in Oz. I've always gone flat at the end of the day.
Question: What's the currently favoured reliable trade-execution platform? FP markets and IB seem to be on the radar, but just wanted to ask: DMA / Iress Viewpoint: is it all over the table? I need fast execution and hot-keys if possible, so the commsec Iress that I currently use in quite clunky- volume entry, multiple clicks etc.
Would IB offer quick-entry and exits on hotkeys? Does FP?
Also, FP is CFDs, which I don't mind, as long as it's over the table. FPmarkets just seems too good to be true. I know Nick Fabrio swears by it. So what's the catch? Do they take out your stops or take you on spreads during volatile sessions ? How does this compare vs IB?
Questions pertain to intra-day trading only.

Thanks !

I've used FPMarkets for many years. They are offer DMA cfds, using the iress platform. The execution is very good but I'm not sure if iress trader platform has hotkeys as I've mostly use iress investor.

However, IB's platform is free and has hotkeys. Both brokers commissions are comparable.
