China Internal Disturbance Risk

Former President before Xi.

I hope it signals to everyone the complete and utter total control the upper echelons of the CCP have over the whole country.

Stay well away from even toeing the line and continuously kowtow, or you get disappeared in a blink of an eye.

For the sake of friends and family and colleagues, Hu will be telling them "he didn't feel well" and "asked them to accompany him out". I won't be surprised to hear he passed away within 6 month's from now
the commentators i watch are in the 'feeling unwell' camp , but only time will tell , maybe he was disappointed on the successor for Xi ( to ascend in 5 years time )

Anyone who thinks that ole Paddington Bear is unassailable has not read post revolutionary politics in depth.

Ole Xi will be surrounded by those vying for leadership. “Keep your enemies closer”.

At least the needs of a voracious Chinese middle class will keep Australian exports comparatively safe. Xi atm provides some stability.

They do a good public humiliation, do our CCP friends.

- Dunces caps on academics and intellectuals during the Cultural Revolution
- Zhou Enlai sitting on a little chair while Mao had the big one
- and now, Hu Jintao being asked to leave the stage at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing during the Communist Party Congress

He looks much relaxed again after the assembly.

Most of his own family were under lock and key during the assembly, I'm informed.

Not unassailable, just highly unlikely with modern day tech imho.
He seems to have removed all who might have any interest or intent from the inner circle.

However, there is quite a level of discontent rising about zero covid policies. Discontent takes time to filter back to the top as officials on various levels dare to speak out and state "the peasants are starting to revolt" to those higher up the chain. They in turn hesitate, but eventually the message passes on.

If Xi let's the whole thing fester too much, the money men will sort him out properly, once and for all.
Hong Kong markets spoke in disapproval soon his 3rd term announcement.

i suspect this will be a winter of discontent ( and i DON'T just mean China ) i can see much restlessness .. Pakistan , much of Europe , sections of the Middle East , UK , Canada , US and Japan ,

Malaysia seems to be one that might create some surprises

Well, it looks as if the workers in the China Circus are none too happy and are beginning to revolt.

It may also affect Apple and Foxconn TG.

Interesting times.

How will Paddington Bear react?

Hundreds of workers at Apple Inc.’s main iPhone-making plant in China clashed with security personnel, as tensions boiled over after almost a month under tough restrictions intended to quash a Covid outbreak.
Workers at the Foxconn Technology Group plant streamed out of dormitories in the early hours of Wednesday, jostling and pushing past the white-clad guards they vastly outnumbered, according to videos sent by a witness to portions of the protest. Several white-suited people pummeled a person lying on the ground with sticks in another clip. Onlookers yelled “fight, fight!” as throngs of people forced their way past barricades. At one point, several surrounded an occupied police car and began rocking the vehicle while screaming incoherently.

The protest started overnight over unpaid wages and fears of spreading infection, according to the witness, asking to remain anonymous for fear of repercussions. Several workers were injured and anti-riot police arrived on the scene Wednesday to restore order, the person added.
In one video, irate workers surrounded a silent, downcast manager in a conference room to voice grievances and question their Covid test results. It wasn’t clear when the meeting took place.
“I’m really scared about this place, we all could be Covid positive now,” a male worker said. “You are sending us to death,” another person said.
A Foxconn representative declined to comment on the incident.

but is the CCP trying to inflame the unrest or to calm it

think on the bigger picture of the 'semi-conductor war '
I doubt if it is centrally induced.

This is always the risk with the Chinese Circus model of governance.

If a tiger or a wombat escapes, with digital imaging and a compliant army ole Xi can control things.

However if all the lions, hyenas, snakes and other kerfuffle making fauna gets out of the circus it can lead to contagion.

I reckon I sleep better than ole Xi.

The Uyghars were easy as they were a discrete godbothering mob blowing up railway stations and not supported by their fellow co-religionists in the Middle East or the Republic of Türkiye.

Time will tell.

i am seeing this as an acceleration of the trade war Trump accelerated with his tariff war

and as Sun Tzu once wrote , all war is based on deception

Since there's no reason to go back into lockdown, I think we can safely say the CCP is trying to inflame the situation. It allows them to surveil the resulting protests and identify anyone with a free-thinking, independent personaility. They're treading a fine line doing this, because among all the zillions of chinese who are compliant with Xi's orders, many of them would be at a point where they would gladly turn on him and his henchmen given half a chance. Right now they don't have that half chance, not even 1/10th of a chance - such is the level of control. But the day will come. A spark will ignite and all those poor, compliant sods will suddenly get angry.

There is one other pertinent factor - that of mind control. The CCP has been very successful in brainwashing its people to think of the supreme leader as one who is acting in their best interests. This is never true, regardless of country or political ideology. Will they see it though? It took Americans a long time to come to a point of (rightfully) distrusting their leaders. Governments everywhere exist to pander to the needs of big business and the elites. That's their sole function and it's been this way since Adam was a boy.

since China has several 'factory towns ' i am thinking they are creating several export bottle-necks and against selective companies/nations for instance the disruption at Foxconn is probably disrupting much more than Apple products , one might expect components for modern cars , and other electronics are being inconvenienced ,

for example are they trying to drive employees into the arms of other Chinese manufacturers , or maybe leverage better outcomes for the government ( taxes and duties ) from selected companies , or maybe just limit components for the arms industry of several 'unfriendly nations'

in the early stages i thought they were just saving face for their slowing economy ( say during 2021 )

seems to be more going on than just a firmer control over the workforce

I doubt if Paddington Bear (ole Xi) planned all this kerfuffle around lockdowns and containing Covid.

The unrest has started and he is not dealing with the unloved Uyghurs but his own Han.

From the ABC.

What if...

...Xi and the CCP cretins actually go down in some sort of revolution/coup.

What then?

as Zhou Enlai said "It's too early to tell."

But they won't give the apparatus of control easily.
It was the reason why I started the thread.

One always hears it on ASF first.

The MSM have never to my knowledge raised the possibility of ole Xi, the Politburo Comrades and the billionaires being sent out in to the paddy fields.

Empires seem to last less and less long nowadays.

One side of the pole.

Other side is Xi comes out of COVID smelling like roses.

Both possible, but unlikely.
Somewhere in middle ground of above poles is more probable. Not sure what that looks like though.

My sources do mention cases of unrest, but, all the animals would need to rush the cage gate like synchronised swimmers for a full collapse.

It's the method to arrange and enable an event like this to happen which is telling. If it happens, it's military backed. It's the only way it CAN happen.
Covid insanity might just be the tipping point, however, a lot of them (general Chinese population) still actually have that deep COVID fear that we witnessed around the time when people were fighting for bog rolls, like they were a necessary life item.

Panic buying has hit parts of Beijing...
