AVL - Australian Vanadium

I’ve been holding this little puppy since your pick @Bazzi. It’s finally barking
Now sitting up and begging to be played with... no idea about fundamentals.

Potential (further?) Breakout Alert.

Breaking out of trend on relative high volume.
It needs to get to around 60million on the volume, to be a record volume day for over 18 months.
Will be watching for potential momentum continuation and variations.

After a rest for a nervous few days, it's off and pushing again.
Still no immediate news.
All I can think of is a good quarterly result may be anticipated. I don't have a clue, purely a technical trade....
I don't like quarterly time and trading TA only... makes me nervous!

This one could be worth some research. Considered a purchase yesterday, but never got back to it., grrr.
Has been in my watchlist for many years, but not sure what I liked about it apart from the word vanadium....?

I'm wondering how many people realise that vanadium redox flow batteries end up being cheaper than lithium batteries on a longer term basis, which is what their suited for and also making them a better large scale grid storage solution. Move over lithium...
Held, perhaps not for long at this rate. I might just rotate this into TNG

Excellent idea for mass electricity storage, no good for EVs.

Lithium will be the choice of EV battery manufacturers for quite a while.

Some battery mineral miners are posting strong gains in morning trade following reports that Scott Morrison will announce $243 million in grants for projects that allow Australia to capitalise on the boom in electric vehicles.

Australian Vanadium (AVL) has been awarded a $49 million grant, with its share price up 20 per cent to 4.2¢.

EDIT: now 4.6c

AVL nudging $0.10! Sustainable or time to take some profit!?
I usually find if I'm wondering about the answer to that question, i should be reacting.

The push through a 10 cent mark is a tough ask. Really needs good momentum to blast through in one go. It usually takes a couple of goes to get through sustainably. Usually.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

so how much vanadium does Russia export ?? ( the battery tech might be the long term bonus )

i do not hold AVL ( but look at it occasionally )

Australian vanadium battery technology gets fresh shot at long duration game

Australian vanadium redox flow battery maker VSUN Energy has joined forces with Sydney-based North Harbour Clean Energy to find and develop grid-scale opportunities for “Australian invented” long-duration battery storage technology.

The two companies said on Thursday that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate development of vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs) into existing and future projects being developed by NHCE.

NHCE is a relative newcomer to the scene, founded roughly two years ago by managing director Tony Schultz, who has a background at private investment firm North Harbour Partners and before that at global investment giant KKR...................

I know these numbers came out 10 months ago, but just noticed the term "Equity IRR" I had to look up a definition to refresh myself. Long story short it generally makes your IRR look bigger than using traditional methods as you consider your funding source - I personally think it's a dog act to use this term in a mining feasibility study. I'm not sure where I can find the project post-tax IRR, but considering this thing is not cashflow positive until year 7 I imagine it would be in the 12-15% range.

I can't see these vanadium deposits getting the green light until we start to see vanadium batteries being built everywhere and the price of V2O5 is sustainably into the mid-teens from the mid $9s (which makes the batteries more expensive).

3.3 cps for a $144 million MC.

pluggers plugging away

AVL (ASX:AVL) is nearing development at its flagship Australian vanadium project in WA.

It is also eyeing downstream opportunities in the vanadium market – namely, vanadium electrolyte manufacturing and opportunities in the vanadium redox flow battery market through subsidiary VSUN Energy.

VRFBs are considered safer (they don’t catch fire), more scalable, and longer lasting than their lithium counterparts with a lifespan of more than 20 years.

VSUN is currently installing a battery system at the IGO (ASX:IGO) Nova nickel operation.

It has also been working to develop a 5kW/15kWh residential version of the VRFB for people who are looking for an alternative to lithium-ion batteries

VANADIUM FLOW BATTERY PARTNERS SIGN AGREEMENT TO DEVELOP GIGAFACTORY IN AUSTRALIA

November 24, 2022
Energy Storage News

Flow battery maker CellCube and energy storage developer North Harbour Clean Energy are in talks to build factory in Australia with 1GW/8GWh annual production capacity.

NHCE has backing from a major Australian institutional investor. That followed a deal signed by NHCE in May with Australian Vanadium, a startup looking to establish a vertically integrated flow battery business in the country from extraction and processing upwards.

I've selected AVL for the May Tipping Comp and the way I've been tipping in the last 6 months I'm probably putting the death sentence on this stock over the next 31 days ?.
Anyway, it's done and has been selected.

It's trend is now moving in the right direction but will it be able to hit the high of the channel (0.46) by month's end? No idea, I'll be just happy to finish in the positive :roflmao:.

AVL has secured an Australian Government grant of up to $49m to advance its namesake project.

The grant includes BYH’s collaboration on the recovery of 16.1Mt grading 762ppm nickel, 212ppm copper and 231ppm cobalt from the vanadium tails stream.

Bryah (BYH) has retained all the nickel and copper rights over the project and will now be working with AVL to complete a feasibility study to recover them from the tails stream.

Previous metallurgical test work has shown a floatation circuit can make a sulphide concentrate of up to 6.3% base metals copper, cobalt and nickel, BYH CEO Ashley Jones says.

“Importantly, throughout the BFS, AVL has provisioned space in the plant design for the floatation circuit.
“Bryah benefits from the portion of the grant to finalise studies, and benefits from the whole grant as it moves AVL closer to developing the Australian Vanadium Project.
