Anyone else getting blocked by this AVG anti-virus message?

Makes navigation of the ASF site very difficult.

Not getting it on any other sites.

(Screendump hopefully attached)

Been happening only today, but all morning.

seems to be an advert causing it?

Nothing today and not using AVG anymore.

But, currently using Avira and got a similar pop up warning yesterday after I clicked onto the blog link of a poster.

I use AVG and never got a pop up for a virus with ASF site.

Last night we were out of power so can not comment if this is a new occurence from last night

Worth scanning your C drive however for a clean up. It may help and if you have AVG free software then it does not have all of the capabilities supplied by a paid AVG .

G'day AWG , the same thing happened to me as well. I went to my AVG tool bar , clicked the drop down box and selected options. I clicked on Security and then deactivated the Acive Surf Shield.
I now have access to ASF but need to wor out whether or not this is a permanent issue or temporary as I don't want to jeopardise my laptop security,

Regards
Bazollie

Hopefully it is a false positive.

Can people log the ad address that is detected as the issue? It may be a bad ad in the rotation. It is not unheard of.

Will check into this ASAP.

Sounds like a false positive. There was another one a little while ago. Hopefully it will be sorted pretty quickly.

If you click on the attachment I provided and magnify it, you can read the id of the suspect, that is why I think possibly an advert.

I am far from an expert on this sort of stuff, but once previously I identified a similar thing on ASF, and it did turn out to be genuine nusiance popup, albeit one that did affect other sites as well ( the boxing one, with punch noise)

The threat is named Exploit Crimepack, so that makes me a little nervous, a website such as ASF would be a natural target for nefarious types.

Getting exactly the same thing popping up as you awg ......not in chatroom , only the forum here............painful

same problem , it gave me this info

URL: ad.au.doubleclick.net/ad/www/delivery/ck.php?oaparams=2__bannerid=8__zoneid=2__source=_blank__cb=d1792a6c8d__oadest=;tile=4;sz=468x60;ord=?
Name: Crimepack Exploit Kit (type 766)

This site is very handy

http://scanner.novirusthanks.org/

Use it to submit a file/web address for immediate inspection. The time it takes depends on their server load. No ActiveX controls to download etc.. Just give it the web address or file and fire away.

It's good to know what all the other AV's think too ;)
