The more I think about it the more I like the idea of 800 pixel thumbnails. It combines the positive aspects of both. 800 pixels will be big enough so that many people wont have to enlarge it any further and those who wish to see it in it's original size just have to click on it.

Worth considering.

Can I do a ZANU-PF and change my vote from Original to Hot and spicy i.e. to Larger thumbnails, a good compromise.

Your change of vote has been recorded. :)

Any more votes on this? If things don't change dramatically I will probably go for the larger thumbnails just because it seems to be the best compromise and most sensible solution to this issue.

Big thumbnails sounds good to me. It's called having your cake and eating it too!

They're being resized right now. Am taking them up to 700 pixels wide. They actually look quite good. If you can click on them, that means they are larger and will open up in another window for those who wish to see them in their original dimensions (1200 pixels max).

Should be finished in an hour or two.

am i having a brain block??

any one know how to attach an image when PMing?

thanks
James

Hi James,

Unfortunately attachments can not be sent via the PM system.

At least not yet!

This may be possible at some point in the future.

james there is an insert image function when pm'ing..

so images can be sent easily,, all you do is upload your image on website like tinypic, then insert the image location into the insert image function in the pm folder..

cheers

tech support:D

James, you probably know this, but some may not - when wanting to send an image via PM I use Imagebucket or Photobucket. (BTW both of these have a free option, no need to pay anything at all; also, there will be other services offering the same thing too). Then just refer to the URL in the PM.

For file transfer via PM I use something like YouSendIt or Bigupload . Again, plenty of others for free too. And just refer to the url in the PM for the file.

hey joe or mods,

there used to be a list when posting attachments in threads like a jpeg image, that would indicate the max kb size of attachment - it is not in the new function, so far as i can tell

what is the current limit on jpeg image size for an attachment to a post in the stock threads

and is the limit per jpeg, ie if the limit is 400kb, can you post say 3 x 350kb jpegs in the one post or would you need 3 posts with a limit of one jpeg in each post

cheers

Limit is currently 250K for all images. This should hopefully be enough for most purposes, although I'd consider increasing it should there be enough demand.

The limit is per attachment rather than per post.
