well i voted FOR the limit on poker machines in the WOW AGM many years back , the majority voted against itWhat makes you think it could/may be different this time, divs, and in what way? Contributory factors?
back then it would have taken the wind out of the activists' sails , as governments would have looked at lost revenues after gambling had been throttled , now the activists have an influential voice in governments to the extent safeguarding revenues no longer matter as new taxes and fees seem to be added at whim
sure the economy is in trouble but normally addicts find innovative ways to support their addiction , but the slowing economy PLUS activists may kill the golden goose just like they flushed James Packer out of Crown and Crown into foreign hands
ALSO there is the prospect of CBDCs and the 'Nanny State where any hardened gambler will go back to the illegal gambling events
alcohol without gambling will be a real hit to bottom lines ( and property values )
