Hey, I just wanted to see if anyone has heard of Anthony Robbins?
He is an American business man who has a company called Robbins Research International (he also owns a stockbroking firm!). He is the world authority on personal success and has written two books, "Unlimited Power" and "Awaken the Giant Within" as well as his best selling audio programs "Personal Power" and the latest "Get the Edge". He coducts "Unleash the Power Within" Seminars and has a thing called "Mastery University".

I have benefited enourmously from both of his books, "Get the Edge" and "Unleash the Power Within Seminar" (September 04') and have eliminated major fears from my life, attained greater control of my emotions and created a life strategy that is getting results and making me grow and be the best i can be, I mention these things because they are relevant to trading and investment.

He has created a system called Neuro Associative Conditioning (NAC), which assists people in getting what they want fast by understanding what our exact outcome is and more importantly WHY we want this, also by finding someone who has achieved this same goal and MODELLING them and turning the beliefs that limit us in beliefs that empower us.

I strongly suggest forum members have a look into the Anthony Robbins collection of books, audio tapes and seminars not only to assist in you your trading but life in general and I leave you with this:

Well I totally dissagree and doubt you can back that up.

I was a sceptic. My mrs bought some of his books and I laughed. I had based my opinion on the infomercial. I thought it was another motivational crock.

Then I noticed some changes in my partner. She was more positive, more constructive, outwardly happier and relaxed. Then she told me why I did the silly things I did. So I decided to read one book. Then another. Then pretty soon anything of his I could get.

Its very healthy stuff for anyone to do. Some people have a fear of the unknown - themselves. Sounds funny but many people have no idea who they really are until they ask themselves questions and find out why they do what it is they do. They have no idea what they want and thats why most people wander through life not acheiving very much.

What Tony Robbins does is show you things you already knew, but forgot. Most of what he says is common sense but its usually stuff we dont think about.

I really cant see what you have to lose by listening to him.

So many people get caught up in there day to day lives that they forget what they really want, Anthony Robbins is someone who understands what it takes for a person succeed and as he says "there is no such thing as sceptisism just fear "(you're scared to look into to whatever your sceptical about).

I have never read any of his books but the guy I used to work for was almost fanatical about him.

He is basically a motivational speaker / writer, who by the way has done very very nicely out of his books / seminars etc. thank you very much.

Complete rubbish in my opinion, if you are already a posotive person who knows what they want out of life.For the more timid people if you think you need motivating and a more posotive feel, try it but I would suspect it will change you initially only to get back into your old ways, but who knows, like I said I haven't read any of his books and never intend to.:badsmile:

It is obvious you're not a very deep person and have a very superficial view of life. If you think that being positive is going to get you anywhere you're wrong.

Fear is the the major thing that keeps us from moving forward and by learning how to attain better emotional states that support success we are better equipped to succeed and fulfill our needs as human beings. (our needs being certainty, variety, significance, connection - growth and contribution)

What a person needs to succeed is absolute clarity about there outcome and have deep reasons why they desire this, they need to have a strategy and know the precise actions they need to be take each day so that they can create momentum (when you have momentum you can do and achieve anything). Momentum will shake off bad habits that are detrimental to success. It's also about compressing time, by knowing what your ultimate goal is you can work your way back and know what needs to be done today and in the short-term, things you know will have a powerful effect on the long-term.

When a person has momentum it is virtually impossible to fail, even when they hit a road block they will keep at it, keep changing they're approach and know there is a way, because there is (if it's been done before before, you better believe it can be done again!).

All people are governed by their beliefs, and by eliminating any limiting beliefs (i.e I'm too young, I'm too old, I don't have the money, I don't care, they don't care, I can't be a billionaire etc...) you may have, you step into a world of total empowerment where what was once impossible is now absolutely certain.

However, it is possible for people build them selves up only to come crashing back down, if you anchor yourself to success by learning to link immediate, massive and unbearable pain to your returning to your past state and continue to link immediate and massive pleasure to moving forward and continuing on your pursuit of greatness.

It is not Anthony Robbins that I am trying to promote, but his principles on life and success which are consistent with anyone who has ever succeeded. If you look back over history there are clear cut reasons for the success of people (mentioned above). It is just that the way he has structured it and the simplicity in which he gets his ideas accross that make him so appealling. Other Infuential books on the topic of success such as Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich have the exact same content except it is structured in a different way.

As for your wonderful insight as to knowing I am a shallow person after only reading a few lines on this forum, good stuff if you can do that, maybe I should read his books after all.

Ther isn't one reason for success, and Tony Robbins certainly hasn't got the answer in my view.No, I haven't read his books but I have had his theories thrown at me via my old employer.

If I new all the secrets of success I would share them .What is success ?. Materialistic success is all the rage these days, with the pressure that goes with it.Surely it is being happy that counts, not so you can brag you have $400m in the bank.Anyway, way off topic and a subject that will never end so not going there.

Making a good profit on the stockmarket is a good start to being successful, and that is why we post on here, best forum on the web so let's keep it that way.

Well I would have thought that as the topic of discussion was Tony Robbins, some discussion about him, opinions etc would be definately ON topic. The stuff these guys teach do affect the economy when there is a seminar conducted at every petrol station and corner store, such as has been the case recently.

But I'll say nought further :-X
