Hi,
How do I code into a system the following:
if I haven't made a profit of 5% in 5 days then exit the trade.
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Adds. Here is a guide to set up the composite indicators. I haven't used it.Hi,
Does anyone know how to get the Advance Decline Line working in Amibroker?

I'm new too. Try File->New->Default Chart.Just below the Tab it says "ERROR: Formula chart not found or empty - no chart to display"
Can anyone assist me?
I'm new too. Try File->New->Default Chart.
If that does not work then try drag 'n' drop price from the charts menu onto the sheet.
I'm not familiar with this error with our data.... It's usually because an indicator or bad/deleted indicator is attached to a particular chart.
One simple way to get rid of this with our data is to:
a) Shut down AmiBroker
b) Navigate to c:\Program Files\AmiBroker\ASX-Premium Data\ with windows explorer then delete the stock in question under the appropriate alphabetical folder (eg. BHP would be under B\BHP)
c) Start AmiBroker, click Tools->ASX-PremiumData
d) Open up that stock again
There may be better ways of doing this but the above may get rid of the issue entirely.
Sometimes when you mucked up default templates/layouts it's often much eaiser to "start again". In this case with Premium Data, I recommend deleting the ASX-PremiumData folder under c:\Program Files\AmiBroker\ then running the Amibroker ASX integration installer again.
Hi all,
Can anyone help me with the backtest report shown below?
Overall profit is good at 676%.
Average Profit is $7435
Average loss is -$2837
However, it is giving me an average loss % of -471.45% and an Avg Profit/Loss % of -268.26%.
This doesn't make any sense to me, any help would be appreciated.

But I thought you were only allocating 10% of portfolio to each trade? The capital allocated to that trade would have been above $46,000.Ha ha, yeah it'd be nice to jump on a few of these, that was BTA for a 430% increase

Anyway, as I noted on another thread, exits are most critical in a trading system. I am perplexed by how your exit signal triggers at such a high return yet stop losses are kept relatively small.
.
That's right, I am only allocating 10% of my equity/trade that $200000 profit came from BTA from the 5/3/09 to the 23/10/09, by this stage the $100000 initial equity had grown to just shy of $500k so that makes sense.
