2021 Monthly Stock Tipping Results

@Dona Ferentes, how do I get @debtfree attention next month? @brerwallabi is way in front and @Muchado, @Garpal Gumnut and yourself are chasing my tail. ??

No wonder I wanted to protest back in April to stop this comp for 2021 ?? as I couldn’t sing “there ain’t no second prize“

********************************

Thank you @debtfree for keeping tabs of every entry for each month.

Congratulations to @brerwallabi for wearing the Yellow Jersey over the past 4 months. Your lead will be hard to chase.

Hello @debtfree

Is there any chance of adding one additional column to this fine work of art?

The column I would like to see is the value of $10,000 (say) at the end of the year to date. For example, the first person on your list, @brerwallabi would have $24,371 as at the end of August, an increase for the year to date of 143.7%.

If a person didn't submit a selection for a particular month, then assume that they chose to be in cash, i.e. a return of 0%.

All the necessary figures are already in your spreadsheet. It should just be a matter of adding the column, with the necessary formula. There is no need to re-do August, just start from the September result.

@brerwallabi calculations:
10,000.00
186.23
-4.65
-5.88
-8.16
-6.67
-15.89
45.90
-9.80
10,000.00
28,623.00
27,292.03
25,687.26
23,591.18
22,017.65
18,519.04
27,019.28
24,371.39
143.71%

I am officially jealous of your spreadsheet and of this result.

Thanks,
KH

I have picked all negative returns this year and I'm coming last in my group. So unfair of you to highlight this in front of everyone.
Oh, I hadn't noticed that. Many thanks for bringing it to my attention. :xyxthumbs

And remember, dealing with percentages, if a stock goes down 50%, it has to rise 100% to get back to the original position.

@KevinBB I've given this some thought and I must admit I have no idea of everyone's strategy picking their Monthly Tip. If the above strategy is what your trying to achieve who am I to say no to your request.
I have added the 2 extra columns on the right of the chart. Done :xyxthumbs.

Also @Joules MM1 and @peter2 speak about trying out the ASX Game, to test your strategies, entries and exits and so on. https://www.aussiestockforums.com/threads/asx-game.451/#post-1114274
Also if anyone wants to try out other strategies, it is a good place to test them out.

That can't be completely true. @Garpal Gumnut states he uses a dartboard, and I believe everything he says.

My claims to any strategy have been, so far:
1. easier for a 2c stock to double in a month, than a $20 one. (usually)
2. Explorers and minnow wanna-be's are going to be driven by news; any attempt to pick a winner, usually unsuccessfully, is usually predicated on likelihood of important updates.
3. Any of the above, if cash strapped, is liable to be a spanner in the works if they want to raise cash.
4. To date, I have never owned any of the tips furnished ... Until this month. I bought some FCT recently (between tipping it a week ago at 7.0c and today's close, and hence tomorrow's cost base, of 7.5c.

Wow.

Double wow.

Dart.

If it lands on any stock other than one worth under $0.50 , get the monkey to throw again.

If the monkey's dart lands on a stock under $0.10 give the monkey extra nuts.

I have had 2 seconds and 1 first place in 15 years I think. That is not bad over 180 competitions against such devilish opponents.

Dart.

My apologies, I just noticed in the last column of the spreadsheet (% increase on 10,000) didn't include this month's calculations, don't know why it didn't pick it up but I'll look into it and have it correct by next month.
The current Balance column is correct.

Well I think you're under paying your monkey, he deserves more nuts @Garpal Gumnut. By my records just over the last 4years you have had 2x(1st) - 1x(2nd) - 2x(3rd)
My apologies. I always downplay the success of my monkey lest some hedge fund decides on a kidnap.

I did not realise he was so successful of late.
