Ah, but some of us will always remember that you were cheated out of your rightful titles and accord you the appropriate respect anyway!

Seriously, both of you have contributed greatly to my enjoyment of ASF and I have learned from both of you in different ways.

Joe, I think it's a great decision to wipe away the "status" attachment.
As others have pointed out, it's sometimes meaningless in terms of quality.

However, I did rather like the "Veteran" bit, except that perhaps it has connotations of old age!
