And best picture goes to a yarn about a black gay man ... that'll teach Trump and Pauline :D

Auli'i did an amazing job.

Its hard to believe she is only 16, Hopefully iTunes and Spotify downloads went crazy after this performance.

We didn't we the Oscar for this song, but it's a great song.

Starts at 1.40

Sounds like a Disney song written by Elton John .... sorry VC I think it's good for pyjamas, a hairbrush microphone and mirror.

Parasite just won the 2020 'best film' category. It was OK, but the director's real gem, I thought, was his previous one; Shoplifting.

Wife dragged me along to see film with Tom Hanks yesterday...very good very emotional..A beautiful day in the neighborhood....thought Tom Hanks would be in the running after that...but that was the only new film that I saw for the year.

“I have nothing against the most famous people in the world using their privileged, global platform to tell the world what they believe. I even agree with most of it. I just tried to warn them that when they lecture everyday, hard working people, it has the opposite effect. Peace,” tweeted Ricky Gervais yesterday.

Of course this follows from earlier:
“If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech,” he said in January.

“You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg,” Gervais told the crowd of A-listers.

“So if you win, come up, accept your award, thank your agent, thank your God, and f**k off.”

From the outset, some disclorure; my children can trace their heratige back to Daniel Mendoza. Blue plarque East End, Brick Lane Bagel Shop, Daniel Mendoza.
That said.....

So to this years Hollywood .... Greta's 'Barbie' gets a limited look at. Well could be for many reasons.
"Oppenhiemer' gets a 'less' limited look at....

About the time J.Robert was becoming Death the Destroyer of worlds, there was a bloke named Kluas busy in Lyon.... Kluas's surname was Barbie.
Can controlling the 'narrative' be taken just a little too far???

Mendoza's great contibution to the 'Nobel art' was; the best way to win was not to get hit. Also Parlays well when in debate.
