People in Hollywood seem to move like sheep. So once the official 'accepted position' is out, even those who do the voting fall in line.

Leo is at 1.03$. Revenant is at 1.91$. Spotlight 1.82$.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'd bet two quid Tom Hardy is the better actor in this one.

A society that gives "Birdman" and Nicole Kidman cudos just has to be bent.

what are you talking about? Leo is a great actor, I'm almost always convinced he's a tough dude in all his tough roles - until he scream his girly scream But otherwise, he's the man.

Nicole was good in "The Others" where she play a stiff with no expression.

That's my point though. It doesn't matter who's the best, it matters what the 'accepted position' is. Because in Hollywood, no one ventures to think for himself. Everyone looks to everyone else when they decide what to think, what to wear and how to talk. Everyone is terrified of not being part of the flock. So behaviour becomes like an emergent phenomenon. It's already been decided that Di Caprio should have won one already for previous works. That's the crowd's accepted position. So he will.

But at 1.03... there's no meat there. Best back the film(s).

Leo did a great job of Wolf Wall Street, but playing an enthusiastic con artist comes with the benefit of a very wide canvas to paint the character.

The cliche tough American who can take super human beatings and still hand someone their 4rse is so hackneyed it should be enjoyed for the mind numbing enjoyable violence that it undoubtedly is, but reward it with a peer trophy that adds nothing to the art ....I dunno perhaps the Steven Seagal Award is more apt?

Have to look up MJ White. Nice Falcon Rising poster - good old 1990s movie posters.

He was also great in The Departed, Blood Diamond. But you can't beat Titanic or the Three Musketeers though
