Don't know if there are any train fans in here but have a look at this beauty, go full screen, it's in high def.

Myself and Mrs Trawler, love train travel, second only to cruising.
Cruising is a very pleasant way to holiday...
It certainly is, you can visit places and get a fleeting glimpse to wet or dampen you appetite, while travelling to destinations you wish to visit.
I hate air travel (replaced knees and hip) cramped poxy box, with people sneezing, snorting, farting and overflowing into your space.
I've found if you plan the trip, the travel can be a big part of the holiday, cruising from Australia to U.K at $100/day isn't expensive.
Then travel by train through Europe, to Rome, fly back through Dubia = magic.
Where do you usually cruise? GF and I have different opinions on what is a relaxing holiday. I was thinking of a cruise in Alaska (I got told Antarctica was out!) with a few day excursions. Have you been there?
No I haven't been to Alaska(inland passage) but have many mates that have. They all loved it, most say don't include the scenic Rockies train trip in it.lol
Apparently the views are much better on the roads above.
Or U.K to Australia around South America.
Yeah the train rides look pretty nice, but I just worry I'll be bored sh!tless after a few days. I usually do more active sort of holidaying (cycling trips/hiking etc). Basically, I like exploring my own way. It does look very beautiful, but I think I'd rather go walking or kayaking around than be sitting with a bunch of old timers having the lunch buffett. No offence of course.
Now that's brave! Do big cruise ships go round the Cape or they use the Straits of Magellan?
