Now that I've sobered up I DO NOT love my ex wife...........or do I ?
LOL is that why you want to move overseas
I agree with Wayne, 4 types of love..
Love is hard to put into words, it just 'is'
No actualy I dont lke her at all, it's just that I've been looking after her for so long it's a hard habit to break.
Got married for the wrong reasons, she was gorgeous and I didnt look much deeper than that..........yes I'm an idiot but that's what makes the world go round.
Seen that one too many times to remember both with "love" and other things. Stand back and take a proper look at what's really happening - here comes a train wreck...Couldn't agree more, have friends who are engaged and it's like watching a slow moving train wreck. Too financially entwined to get out of it. Shame, she's hot![]()
Mr Burns said:I believe if you truly loved them in the first place you still would, you don't fall out of real love.
Julia said:Wayne, those kids' responses are gorgeous. Pity we don't retain the wisdom of the young as we get older.
Easiest way to spot these impending disasters is to find even the slightest hint that the benefits of the the relationship, as viewed by those in it, are in any way related to material posessions, finances, status etc. Not hard to see why those relationships fail once the inevitable realisation occurs that it's effectively a financial contract and nothing else. Sad but I've seen it a lot.![]()
Deja vu. I wouldn't say they are wise, just very perceptive in a way we usually are not as adults. I don't think we lose it, but brush it aside when we develop our adult perspective. I think we can bring it out as well.
The book
"The 5 love languages" somes this up pretty well.
Each person has a different love language and the reason alot of people break up etc.. is because they dont understand the other persons love language hence what they think is love etc.. to their partner it could be completely different. I found this helped with my relationship.
Someone posted this elsewhere on ASF not long ago, I kept it, I think it's true.
Requirements of a potential partner.(dunno about No4 though)
1) must be kind hearted...any evidence of harshness or cruelty, forget it
2) similar intellectual capacity
3) matched sex drives
4) similar assets
5) know the person for long enough for initial chemistry to wear off
My requirements are far more superficial;
1) Deaf
2) Blind
3) Mute
4) Hot @ss
5) Daddy owns a brewery
