Hello, My story was married for 19 yrs Ex met a woman basher so took of with him if I had know she like that sort of thing I could have helped her out, between us we lost about $1.7M then I had Child support to pay and she started a business in opposition to me so I was paying her CSA to keep her taking business of me. CSA finished met a Chinese thing got her here and her son they clocked up 4K on the net down loading movies so I complained she claimed violence and took off after calling the Police ( have not heard from them) I told immigration and they tell me it is none of my business due to privacy laws now she has legal Aid and going for property settlement ( sold the house last Sept.) she has been in the country about 3 yrs.
Now looking at getting as much loot as possible and moving over seas on the mates Farm I can buy a 20" containers shipped for about $4.500 all up.
Have enough tools etc to build what ever I like. Am 59 and i don't think there will be a pension in 6 yrs time. 'Just looking for suggestions:
Thanks

sounds unpleasant Glen

think most of us fellas know at least one matey that has gone thru similar

i dont know if such a thing exists, but can I suggest you may be able to find an on-line forum that is dedicated to gents in your situation.

that would be a good place to get practical tips on the things you want to know, if other users have been thru the same issues

and would be a lot less expensive than paying a good divorce lawyer, altho i am not suggesting u dont, or havnt done so already.

I am pretty sure you would be able to find something specialised..i know there is one called "blokes shed" or something similar..u can swear and all..it is for general male talk, dont know if it has a "shafted by the ex sub-section"

Maaaaaaaaate ! I feel for your plight. Surprised vengeance would not be high on the priority list? GOSH. Ummmm ... get the loot together as fast as possible and get OS ASAP. Talk about a world of pain. I am struggling for suggestions on this one.

Crikey mate!! That chinese woman sounds like she too you for a ride. Sorry about that. I reckon go for it. Have you considered moving up north? Lots of out of the way places in FNQ. Or maybe try south america, the b!tch would never find you there!! Good luck.

How are you suppose to know they tell you what you want to hear just to get in the door and Migration don't tell you if they have tried this before with some other patsy..
Looking at moving to the P'Pines mates farm is just North of Manila.
Legal aid have sent me an invit. to attend a conference but have the Chinese name wrong so I will wait the 14 days and say sorry I don't know any one by that name but I do love a good pissup sorry I can't come.
Just have fun with them and get some revenge after 40 yrs of our Legal system not giving justice to the innocent/
IF this depression gets as bad as some are predicting living in a couple of 20" with Air Con and grown your own food in a country were there are 6 women to every male can't be to bad.
All I need to do it work out how to plot CFD's and make a few bucks a week.
Is a Manila folder a Philippine contortionist?
Thanks for your input my days of paying Tax etc are over and the Taxpayers now has a new single Mother & Son to support

Sounds like you have it all worked out. Good stuff. And yes I too hate this single mum thing especially when it is to woman like your ex who have used you and will now proceed to bring there entire family over:banghead: More burden on a our society.Oh well. Do you need a visa to live in phillipines? Have fun.

Try this: Get old wedding video out and play it backwards from the point where you say "I do". You will watch her smile, take the ring off, walk backwards out of the church and jump in a car and FERK OFF ! Makes you feel better I am sure !

Common practice from the OS brides to go down this path. Or so I am told. Know this guy who knocked up Thai girl allegedly (while on holiday over there). "Steve" promised her a beter life in OZ. Sent money OS for about 8 months. She came to OZ. Had baby 3 months after landing on big island? I asked "Steve" how come 11 month gestation? This guy was soooooo thick. His response "Noot tells me that Thai babies take longer for pregnancy because they "special"" . OMFG :banghead: Caught up with "Steve" about 2 months ago. Her family is over here now and he lives in a caravan paying CSA. Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!

hi glen - great place Philippines. Great that you've got a plan as well, even if it changes.
1. stay positive man
2. learn to like rice - and squid cooked in its own ink lol.
3. accept the fact that, in the villages/ provinces, the drop-pits often sit above waterlogged country beside a paddy field, and the well for drinking water is about 3 feet to the right.
4. Maybe have Hep C injection lol (etc etc )
5. learn to appreciate that a water buffalo is much less noisy than a tractor - I recall driving along the highway to Baguio City in a bus - busy 4 lane highway - and there, wandering home along the side of the road was a small boy asleep on a water buffalo - fortunately (presumably) it knew the way home. :)
6. PS I'm sure your friend can give you the best advice about visas. I was there on a holiday visa, joined a yacht. I was (arguably) working on said yacht - not that I was being paid. Anyway I went to have my visa extended , and was encouraged to go for a working visa - to come back with a note to that effect - it would all be real simple then etc etc . When I came back next day with the note, they said - "ahh that changes everything... that will cost you 200 or 2000 pesos ! (forget - not much in AUD anyway)" ;)
still - it was indeed a lovely country.
7. as for the rest of it m8, life's too short to dwell on the potholes along the way. good luck btw.
8. Hell I'd even check with the Manila Yacht Club every now and again, and see if there are any yachts needing crew. - that's what I used to do (back a few years now). :2twocents

PS not quite so superstitious in Manila, but in Cebu, they sell "prayers" at the marketplace. (Christianity gone a little off the rails sorta thing) "This one is for pregnant women - put it under your pillow at night, and you'll have an easy childbirth. Also for the flue". "This one for sore back" etcetc. Be careful , if you buy the first one, that you don't go to bed expecting to sort out the flue, and wake up with a baby ...

mmm having read the last post about phillipines I reckon your best bet is to dissappear up north. Lots of people just camp up there on the beaqches etc. get a decent 4wd and watch out for crocs everything else should be alright.

Have a place in Bloomfield if you are interested. Great fishing, can drive to cooktown or up further to laura princess charlotte bay or the cape. Lots of cons up that way who have skipped bail and live there happily lol

The Phils (Philippines) is a great place, and very very popular with a few types of middle
aged man, lotsa retired US military guys there....i think they like the fact that the phils is
kinda like a right wing christian country, stuck in the 1950's.

Foreign nationals living there sometimes have visa issues and housing issues, due to the fact
that foreigners cannot own land...still there's lotsa ways to get around the rules...and many
tens of thousands of men have successfully done this.

The "Living in Cebu" forum is a great place to get an idea of how things are for the expat
community living in the Phils. http://www.livingincebuforums.com/ipb/

You've had a tough few years there mate.

Regarding living in Philippines, i've stated before in this forum my intention to retire in my 30s to Philippines rather than work til im 65yo in Australia.

The average filipino earns less than 500Peso($10)/day and can support a family on this, so if your investments can generate atleast that and your single you can live above there standards.

Manila is crowded and comparatively expensive. I like Cabanatuan City a couple hour north of manila. its quite, cheap, alot of farms for cheap rice/veggies/fruit, chicken, etc.

And close enough for day trips to Bagiuo (much cooler), La Union (great quite beach) or Manila(if you want a city trip). Do some island hopping to Cebu for diving life.

Visa is easy.
21days no visa required. extend to 59days for about $50 fee. keep doing that for 1year, then you must leave the country for atleast 1day before returning and repeating the process.

or apply retirement visa if you have $20k to invest in Philippines bank.

Stay clear of Angeles City(to the north of manila). its the place the yanks go as sex tourists or to set up bars(brothel). its surrounded by higher crime and corruption.

The filipina is a beautiful thing, so be careful not to repeat your previous mistake.

Most importantly...Have Fun!

and get used to the beautiful tones of the Tagalog language m8 ;)

if deleted try a fresh search (and that goes for all deleted youtubes incidentally - dead simple) :-

HAHAHA. So true. The filipino love videoake and singing love songs....quiite badly.

But atleast a good san miguel beer is only 40c a bottle. And the bananas are the best ive had. try eat a halo-halo mmmm.

your right, owning land is a no-no, but you can own a condo/apartment because you can own a building just not land. also long term lease is comon of house/land. or set up a business to own the house/land. personally with rent so cheap and foreigners highly desirable to landlords, i'd probably just rent.

DONT marry a filipina and put the house in her name:2twocents

howdy nathan
spent 6 months in Phils, including about 2 months based in Cebu - Like you by the sound of it, I scuba dived around the inland sea - some lovely reef. The politics gets a bit wild down south of course (Mindanao etc). Another yacht was hit by pirates down there somewhere (en route from Singapore), and limped into Cebu whilst we were there, a young mother shot missing from the crew's complement  - And I gotta feeling that Negros has or had a fairly high rate of rabies (talk about searching hard for faults lol).

Still I'd still give it 11 outta 10 as a suitable destination assuming you wanna get away for a break for a while. :2twocents

damm NB, that post made me wistful.

I could live like a lord over there, dollar wise.

Its popular to do this and then get a 50 year lease over the property in your name.

i suspect glen might have some trust issues to overcome. i would recommend staying clear of serious relationship for now and simply renting, freeing up more capital to invest.

isn't "my way" the song that can result in a poor singer being shoot ?

that pic sure makes me miss the place, bit hungry now too.

long service leave in few years, then im outta here for good...fingers crossed. in this economy its actually a smart thing to do, provided you've been there before and like the heat and vibe of the place.
