I can't work out whether I like this guy or not. When I watch him play I can't help but cheer him on, but there really is lot I dislike about the guy. What do people think out there?

Re: Hewitt- Love or Hate?

I wanna go for him coz he is from Adelaide. Put when he does the 'C'mon' on the oppositions unforced error then he is a complete w@nk stain!
Oppositions hate playing him too, Bagdahdis and James Blake are a couple that hewitt gets under their skin - they end up doing the 'C'mon' back at hewitt.

Re: Hewitt- Love or Hate?

Imagine for a minute Leyton is not an Australia and it becomes clearer that there is not much to like. Sure his Cmon are great when you are playing sport yourself, but there are much better tennis players out there in terms of skills, personality and looks.

Personally I prefer Love-Hewitt...

He's a man with a Tennis mission, I love him.

Hate is such a strong word, but I find I don't hate him at all. I just didn't like how he tried to sue the association for that time he got fined $100 000 for not doing an interview, he's never got back to his form over that and no wonder with the attitude in the wrong place.

He's got some work to do.

If a player makes a mistake on a vital point, "c'mon". hahaha

My friend used to sledge me quite a bit when we were playing together, do I hate him ? No, I just learnt to sledge back and learnt to focus on the ball.

What do people actually hate though ? just the c'mon ? or what ? I need details otherwise I'll think you're a bunch of unsmiling commie's.

A fighter on the tennis court with true grit,
Makes up for deficits in his game with tenacity.
A victim of eastern states' media jealousy.
Pat Rafter once conceded a big game against Andre Agassi because of dehydration...Rafter said that he didn't drink enough.
If Hewitt did the same the media would have a field day!

For the poll i chose Hate. Though I've got the IBM SlamTracker open at the moment and following Hewitt's progress against Gonzalez and I'll be honest im going for hewitt... ah **** gonzalez just broke hewitt's serve in the 5th set.

there was a poll on the radio this afternoon in relation to this issue - think it ended up 55% like him.

For the record...I dislike passionately!

Why ?

That aside he's just been broken in the 5th, oh well looks like its back to his Ferrari & mansion in Adelaide, not a bad lookin' missus either. Tough life. :D

I voted Hate but really it's dislike. Then again, many sports people aren't really likable these days. Once the big money started coming into sport, niceness/sportsmanship went out the window. In fact it's not really sport any more, it's paid competition.

An example from my childhood of what I call sport was John Landy stopping to help up a fallen competitor and then going on to win the race anyway. Nowadays a fallen competitor is more likely to get stomped on to make sure s/he doesn't get back up :(

Dont love or hate him...just wish he would go for his shots more, like
in the old days, and stop with the boring defensive play.

I dislike him - wouldn't say hate.

He lost me when he abused the linesman for calling a foot fault at Wimbledon when it was a correct call, carried on like a true - insert that word that rymes with banker here - that day. No wonder he supports the Crows:p::D
