Does anyone know of a product I can buy that's smaller to carry around than a lap top, so I'm not tied to my home phone line when I trade, but leaves me free to go out for coffee with family and friends and still able to place trades while I'm out. Something light and small enough to carry in my handbag?

iphone, really? Would that have enough memory to view option price lists? I'm not up on this sort of thing.

Um, a mobile phone and call your broker?

If you want a trading platform, I'm not sure if the iPhone has one, but maybe try one of the Symbian-based phones (e.g. Nokia N95, N96, E66, E71) if they have trading software available? If not any phone with a browser might do (Samsung, LG, Nokia, Motorola, etc.)

Find the software you want to use first, then the device to run it on.

Thank you for the information you've given me. I'll have to try the different phones available.

Just as a suggestion, have a look at the Commsec site to see how they utilise it. I believe they have a demo

Who do you trade with? There are brokers that facilitate trading via small mobile devices, but on the other hand there are very small laptops available which will allow you to trade via a web based application.

Thank you I will look at comm sec and I trade through Morrison Securities - who I'm very happy with.

you could try a mini-notebook with a GSM card, set it up with the same programs as your main trading computer, and away you go, small and powerfull enough to trade on the go.

just a thought, happy trading.

How about a ultra portable laptop like an asus eeepc or similar ? many have like 8inch screens weigh less than a kilo, should fit in the average handbag ?
